سورة التكوير
اٰیاتہا 29
 Wound Round and Lost its Light / At-Takwir (Recite)

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان رحم والا
اِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ1 
جب دھوپ لپیٹی جائے
When the sunlight is rolled up.
وَاِذَا النُّجُوْمُ انْكَدَرَتْ2 
اور جب تارے جھڑ پڑیں
And when the stars fall down.
وَاِذَا الْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ3 
اور جب پہاڑ چلائے جائیں
And when the mountains are driven.
وَاِذَا الْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ4 
اور جب تھلکی (گابھن) اونٹنیاں چھوٹی پھریں
And when milch camels roam abandoned.
وَاِذَا الْوُحُوْشُ حُشِرَتْ5 
اور جب وحشی جانور جمع کیے جائیں
And when wild animals are herded together.
وَاِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ6 
اور جب سمندر سلگائے جائیں
And when the seas are set afire.
وَاِذَا النُّفُوْسُ زُوِّجَتْ7 
اور جب جانوں کے جوڑ بنیں
And when the souls are paired.
وَاِذَا الْمَوْءٗدَةُ سُىِٕلَتْ8 
اور جب زندہ دبائی ہوئی سے پوچھا جائے
And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked.
بِاَيِّ ذَنْۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ9 
کس خطا پر ماری گئی
Upon what sin was she killed for.
وَاِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ10 
اور جب نامہٴ اعمال کھولے جائیں
And when the Records of Account are laid bare.
وَاِذَا السَّمَاۗءُ كُشِطَتْ11 
اور جب آسمان جگہ سے کھینچ لیا جائے
And when the heaven is torn away.
وَاِذَا الْجَــحِيْمُ سُعِّرَتْ12 
اور جب جہنم بھڑکایا جائے
And when hell is further enflamed.
وَاِذَا الْجَنَّةُ اُزْلِفَتْ13 
اور جب جنت پاس لائی جائے
And when Paradise is brought near.
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ اَحْضَرَتْ14 
ہر جان کو معلوم ہوجائے گا جو حاضر لائی
Every soul will then come know what it has brought.
فَلَآ اُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِ15 
تو قسم ہے ان کی جو الٹے پھریں
So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.)
الْجَوَارِ الْكُنَّسِ16 
سیدھے چلیں تھم رہیں
Who move straight and stop.
وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا عَسْعَسَ17 
اور رات کی جب پیٹھ دے
And by oath of the night when it turns back.
وَالصُّبْحِ اِذَا تَنَفَّسَ18 
اور صبح کی جب دم لے
And by oath of the morning when it takes birth.
اِنَّهٗ لَقَوْلُ رَسُوْلٍ كَرِيْمٍ19 
بیشک یہ عزت والے رسول کا پڑھنا ہے
This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.)
ذِيْ قُوَّةٍ عِنْدَ ذِي الْعَرْشِ مَكِيْنٍ20 
جو قوت والا ہے مالک عرش کے حضور عزت والا وہاں اس کا حکم مانا جاتا ہے
The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne.
مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ اَمِيْنٍ21 
امانت دار ہے
The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel).
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُوْنٍ22 
اور تمہارے صاحب مجنون نہیں
And your companion is not insane.
وَلَقَدْ رَاٰهُ بِالْاُفُقِ الْمُبِيْنِ23 
اور بیشک انہوں نے اسے روشن کنارہ پر دیکھا
And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them).
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَي الْغَيْبِ بِضَنِيْنٍ24 
اور یہ نبی غیب بتانے میں بخیل نہیں
And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.)
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطٰنٍ رَّجِيْمٍ25 
اور قرآن، مردود شیطان کا پڑھا ہوا نہیں
And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast.
فَاَيْنَ تَذْهَبُوْنَ26 
پھر کدھر جاتے ہو
So where are you going?
اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعٰلَمِيْنَ27 
وہ تو نصیحت ہی ہے سارے جہان کے لیے
That is but an advice to the entire creation!
لِمَنْ شَاۗءَ مِنْكُمْ اَنْ يَّسْتَــقِيْمَ28 
اس کے لیے جو تم میں سیدھا ہونا چاہے
For the one among you who wishes to become upright.
وَمَا تَشَاۗءُوْنَ اِلَّآ اَنْ يَّشَاۗءَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ۧ29 
اور تم کیا چا ہو مگر یہ کہ چاہے اللہ سارے جہان کا رب
And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation.
