اٰیاتہا 38

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان رحم والا
اَلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ اَضَلَّ اَعْمَالَهُمْ1 
جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکا اللہ نے ان کے عمل برباد کیے
Indeed if the disbelievers owned all that is in the earth and a similar one in addition to it, and they offered it as a ransom to save themselves from the punishment of the Day of Resurrection, it would not be accepted from them; and for them is a painfu
وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَاٰمَنُوْا بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلٰي مُحَمَّدٍ وَّهُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَّبِّهِمْ ۙكَفَّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَـيِّاٰتِهِمْ وَاَصْلَحَ بَالَهُمْ2 
اور ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے اور اس پر ایمان لائے جو محمد پر اتارا گیا اور وہی ان کے رب کے پاس سے حق ہے اللہ نے ان کی برائیاں اتار دیں اور ان کی حالتیں سنوار دیں
They will wish to come out of hell, and will not come out of it - and for them is an unending punishment.
ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْبَاطِلَ وَاَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْحَقَّ مِنْ رَّبِّهِمْ ۭ كَذٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللّٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ اَمْثَالَهُمْ3 
یہ اس لیے کہ کافر باطل کے پیرو ہوئے اور ایمان والوں نے حق کی پیروی کی جو ان کے رب کی طرف سے ہے اللہ لوگوں سے ان کے احوال یونہی بیان فرماتا ہے
And cut off the hands of those men or women who are thieves - a recompense of their deeds, a punishment from Allah; and Allah is Almighty, Wise.
فَاِذَا لَقِيْتُمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فَضَرْبَ الرِّقَابِ ۭ حَتّىٰٓ اِذَآ اَثْخَنْتُمُوْهُمْ فَشُدُّوا الْوَثَاقَ ڎ فَاِمَّا مَنًّـۢا بَعْدُ وَاِمَّا فِدَاۗءً حَتّٰى تَضَعَ الْحَرْبُ اَوْزَارَهَاڃ ذٰ۩لِكَ ړ وَلَوْ يَشَاۗءُ اللّٰهُ لَانْتَـصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلٰكِنْ لِّيَبْلُوَا۟ بَعْضَكُمْ بِبَعْـضٍ ۭ وَالَّذِيْنَ قُتِلُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ فَلَنْ يُّضِلَّ اَعْمَالَهُمْ4 
تو جب کافروں سے تمہارا سامناہوتو گردنیں مارنا ہے یہاں تک کہ جب انہیں خوب قتل کرلو تو مضبوط باندھو، پھر اس کے بعد چاہے احسان کرکے چھوڑ دو چاہے فدیہ لے لو یہاں تک کہ لڑائی اپنابوجھ رکھ دے بات یہ ہے اوراللہ چاہتا تو آپ ہی اُن سے بدلہ لیتا مگر اس لئے تم میں ایک کو دوسرے سے جانچے اور جو اللہ کی راہ میں مارے گئے اللہ ہرگز ان کے عمل ضائع نہ فرمائے گا
So if one repents after his wrongdoing and reforms himself, Allah will incline towards him with His mercy; indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.
سَيَهْدِيْهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْ5 
جلد انہیں راہ دے گا اور ان کا کام بنادے گا
Do you not know that to Allah only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth? He punishes whomever He wills, and forgives whomever He wills; and Allah is Able to do all things.
وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَــنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ6 
اور انہیں جنت میں لے جائے گا انہیں اس کی پہچان کرادی ہے
O Noble Messenger (Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him)! Do not let yourself be aggrieved by the people who rush towards disbelief - those who say with their mouths, “We believe” but whose hearts are not Muslims; and some Jews; they listen
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِنْ تَنْصُرُوا اللّٰهَ يَنْصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ اَقْدَامَكُمْ7 
اے ایمان والو اگر تم دین خدا کی مدد کرو گے اللہ تمہاری مدد کرے گا اور تمہارے قدم جمادے گا
The excessively eager listeners of falsehood, extreme devourers of the forbidden; so if they come humbly to you (Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), judge between them or shun them; and if you turn away from them they cannot harm you at
وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فَتَعْسًا لَّهُمْ وَاَضَلَّ اَعْمَالَهُمْ8 
اور جنہوں نے کفر کیا تو ان پر تباہی پڑے اور اللہ ان کے اعمال برباد کرے
And why should they wish to be judged by you, when they have the Taurat with them, in which exist the commands of Allah and yet they turn away from it? And they will not accept faith.
ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوْا مَآ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ فَاَحْبَطَ اَعْمَالَهُمْ9 
یہ اس لیے کہ انہیں ناگوار ہوا جو اللہ نے اتارا تو اللہ نے ان کا کیا دھرا اِکارت کیا
Undoubtedly We sent down the Taurat, in which is guidance and light; the Jews were commanded according to it by Our obedient Prophets, and the rabbis and the religious jurists for they were commanded to protect Allah’s Book, and were witnesses to it; so
اَفَلَمْ يَسِيْرُوْا فِي الْاَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۭ دَمَّرَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۡ وَلِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ اَمْثَالُهَا10 
تو کیا انہوں نے زمین میں سفر نہ کیا کہ دیکھتے ان سے اگلوں کا کیسا انجام ہوا، اللہ نے ان پر تباہی ڈالی اور ان کافروں کے لیے بھی ویسی کتنی ہی ہیں
And in the Taurat, We made it obligatory upon them that, “A life (is the retribution) for a life, and an eye for an eye, and a nose for a nose, and an ear for an ear, and a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is a retribution”; then whoever willingly agree
ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَوْلَى الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَاَنَّ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ لَا مَوْلٰى لَهُمْ   ۧ11 
یہ اس لیے کہ مسلمانوں کا مولیٰ اللہ ہے اور کافروں کا کوئی مولیٰ نہیں
And We brought Eisa the son of Maryam, following the footsteps of those Prophets, confirming the Taurat which preceded him - and We bestowed upon him the Injeel (Bible) in which is guidance and light, and confirms the Taurat which preceded it, and a guid
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ۭ وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا يَتَمَتَّعُوْنَ وَيَاْكُلُوْنَ كَمَا تَاْكُلُ الْاَنْعَامُ وَالنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَّهُمْ12 
بیشک اللہ داخل فرمائے گا انہیں جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے باغوں میں جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں، اور کافر برتتے ہیں اور کھاتے ہیں جیسے چوپائے کھائیں اور آگ میں ان کا ٹھکانا ہے
And the People of Injeel must judge by what Allah has sent down in it; and whoever does not judge according to what is sent down by Allah - it is they who are the sinners.
وَكَاَيِّنْ مِّنْ قَرْيَةٍ هِىَ اَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِّنْ قَرْيَتِكَ الَّتِيْٓ اَخْرَجَتْكَ ۚ اَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ13 
اور کتنے ہی شہر کہ اس شہر سے قوت میں زیادہ تھے جس نے تمہیں تمہارے شہر سے باہر کیا، ہم نے انہیں ہلاک فرمایا تو ان کا کوئی مددگار نہیں
And O dear Prophet (Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) We have sent down the true Book upon you, confirming the Books preceding it, and a protector and witness over them - therefore judge between them according to what is sent down by Allah, and
اَفَمَنْ كَانَ عَلٰي بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖ كَمَنْ زُيِّنَ لَهٗ سُوْۗءُ عَمَلِهٖ وَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَهْوَاۗءَهُمْ14 
تو کیا جو اپنے رب کی طرف سے روشن دلیل پر ہو اُس جیسا ہوگا جس کے برے عمل اسے بھلے دکھائے گئے اور وہ اپنی خواہشوں کے پیچھے چلے
And therefore, O Muslims, judge between them according to what is sent down by Allah, and do not follow their desires, and be cautious of them so that they may not divert you from some commands which have been sent down to you; then if they turn away, kn
مَثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِيْ وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُوْنَ ۭ فِيْهَآ اَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ مَّاۗءٍ غَيْرِ اٰسِنٍ ۚ وَاَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ لَّبَنٍ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهٗ ۚ وَاَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ خَمْرٍ لَّذَّةٍ لِّلشّٰرِبِيْنَ ڬ وَاَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ عَسَلٍ مُّصَفًّى ۭ وَلَهُمْ فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرٰتِ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ ۭ كَمَنْ هُوَ خَالِدٌ فِي النَّارِ وَسُقُوْا مَاۗءً حَمِيْمًا فَقَطَّعَ اَمْعَاۗءَهُمْ15 
احوال اس جنت کا جس کا وعدہ پرہیزگاروں سے ہے، اس میں ایسی پانی کی نہریں ہیں جو کبھی نہ بگڑے اور ایسے دودھ کی نہریں ہیں جس کا مزہ نہ بدلا اور ایسی شراب کی نہریں ہیں جس کے پینے میں لذت ہے اور ایسی شہد کی نہریں ہیں جو صاف کیا گیا اور ان کے لیے اس میں ہر قسم کے پھل ہیں، اور اپنے رب کی مغفرت کیا ایسے چین والے ان کی برابر ہوجائیں گے جنہیں ہمیشہ آگ میں رہنا اور انہیں کھولتا پانی پلایا جائے گا کہ آنتوں کے ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کردے
So do they wish a judgement of ignorance? And whose judgement is better than that of Allah, for the people who are certain?
وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ يَّسْتَمِعُ اِلَيْكَ ۚ حَتّىٰٓ اِذَا خَرَجُوْا مِنْ عِنْدِكَ قَالُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ اٰنِفًا ۣاُولٰۗىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ طَبَعَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰي قُلُوْبِهِمْ وَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَهْوَاۗءَهُمْ16 
اور ان میں سے بعض تمہارے ارشاد سنتے ہیں یہاں تک کہ جب تمہارے پاس سے نکل کر جائیں علم والوں سے کہتے ہیں ابھی انہوں نے کیا فرمایا یہ ہیں وہ جن کے دلوں پر اللہ نے مہر کردی اور اپنی خواہشوں کے تابع ہوئے
O People who Believe! Do not make the Jews and the Christians your friends; they are friends of one another; and whoever among you befriends them, is one of them; indeed Allah does not guide the unjust.
وَالَّذِيْنَ اهْتَدَوْا زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَّاٰتٰىهُمْ تَقْوٰىهُمْ17 
اور جنہوں نے راہ پائی اللہ نے ان کی ہدایت اور زیادہ فرمائی اور ان کی پرہیزگاری انہیں عطا فرمائی
You will now see those in whose hearts is a disease, that they rush towards the Jews and the Christians, saying, “We fear that a misfortune will possibly befall us”; so it is likely that Allah may soon bring victory, or a command from Himself, so they wi
فَهَلْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَّا السَّاعَةَ اَنْ تَاْتِيَهُمْ بَغْتَةً ۚ فَقَدْ جَاۗءَ اَشْرَاطُهَا ۚ فَاَنّٰى لَهُمْ اِذَا جَاۗءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرٰىهُمْ18 
تو کاہے کے انتظار میں ہیں مگر قیامت کے کہ ان پر اچانک آجائے، کہ اس کی علامتیں تو آہی چکی ہیں پھر جب آجائے گی تو کہاں وہ اور کہاں ان کا سمجھنا
And the believers say, “Are these the ones who swore by Allah most vehemently in their oaths, that they are with you?” All their deeds are destroyed, so they are ruined.
فَاعْلَمْ اَنَّهٗ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْۢبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ۭ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوٰىكُمْ   ۧ19 
تو جان لو کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں اور اے محبوب! اپنے خاصوں اور عام مسلمان مردوں اور عورتوں کے گناہوں کی معافی مانگو اور اللہ جانتا ہے دن کو تمہارا پھرنا اور رات کو تمہارا آرام لینا
O People who Believe! Whoever among you reneges from his religion, so Allah will soon bring a people who are His beloved ones and Allah is their beloved, lenient with the Muslims and stern towards disbelievers - they will strive in Allah’s cause, and not
وَيَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَوْلَا نُزِّلَتْ سُوْرَةٌ ۚ فَاِذَآ اُنْزِلَتْ سُوْرَةٌ مُّحْكَمَةٌ وَّذُكِرَ فِيْهَا الْقِتَالُ ۙ رَاَيْتَ الَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌ يَّنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَيْكَ نَظَرَ الْمَغْشِيِّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ ۭ فَاَوْلٰى لَهُمْ20 
اور مسلمان کہتے ہیں کوئی سورت کیوں نہ اتاری گئی پھر جب کوئی پختہ سورت اتاری گئی اور اس میں جہاد کا حکم فرمایا گیا تو تم دیکھو گے انہیں جن کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے کہ تمہاری طرف اس کا دیکھنا دیکھتے ہیں جس پر مُرونی چھائی ہو، تو ان کے حق میں بہتر یہ تھا کہ فرمانبرداری کرتے
You do not have any friends except Allah and His Noble Messenger and the believers who establish the prayer and pay the charity, and are bowed down before Allah.
طَاعَةٌ وَّقَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوْفٌ ۣ فَاِذَا عَزَمَ الْاَمْرُ ۣ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا اللّٰهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ21 
اور اچھی بات کہتے پھر جب حکم ناطق ہوچکا تو اگر اللہ سے سچے رہتے تو ان کا بھلا تھا
And whoever takes Allah and His Noble Messenger and the Muslims as friends - so undoubtedly only the party of Allah is victorious.
فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ اِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ اَنْ تُفْسِدُوْا فِي الْاَرْضِ وَتُـقَطِّعُوْٓا اَرْحَامَكُمْ22 
تو کیا تمہارے یہ لچھن نظر آتے ہیں کہ اگر تمہیں حکومت ملے تو زمین میں فساد پھیلاؤ اور اپنے رشتے کاٹ دو
O People who Believe! Those who have made your religion a mockery and a sport, and those who received the Book before you, and the disbelievers - do not befriend any of them; and keep fearing Allah, if you have faith.
اُولٰۗىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ فَاَصَمَّهُمْ وَاَعْمٰٓى اَبْصَارَهُمْ23 
یہ ہیں وہ لوگ جن پر اللہ نے لعنت کی اور انہیں حق سے بہرا کردیا اور ان کی آنکھیں پھوڑ دیں
And when you call to prayer, they mock and make fun of it; this is because they are people without any sense.
اَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُوْنَ الْقُرْاٰنَ اَمْ عَلٰي قُلُوْبٍ اَقْفَالُهَا24 
تو کیا وہ قرآن کو سوچتے نہیں یا بعضے دلوں پر ان کے قفل لگے ہیں
Say, “O People given the Book(s)! What do you dislike in us - except that we believe in Allah and what is sent down to us and what was sent down before, and because most of you are disobedient?”
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ ارْتَدُّوْا عَلٰٓي اَدْبَارِهِمْ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْهُدَى ۙ الشَّيْطٰنُ سَوَّلَ لَهُمْ ۭ وَاَمْلٰى لَهُمْ25 
بیشک وہ جو اپنے پیچھے پلٹ گئے بعد اس کے کہ ہدایت ان پر کھل چکی تھی شیطان نے انہیں فریب دیا اور انہیں دنیا میں مدتوں رہنے کی امید دلائی
Say, “Shall I tell you of those who are in a worse position than this, in Allah’s sight? It is those whom Allah has cursed and has wreaked His wrath upon and turned some of them into apes and swine, and worshippers of the devil; theirs is a worse destina
ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ قَالُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ كَرِهُوْا مَا نَزَّلَ اللّٰهُ سَنُطِيْعُكُمْ فِيْ بَعْضِ الْاَمْرِ ښ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ اِسْرَارَهُمْ26 
یہ اس لیے کہ انہوں نے کہا ان لوگوں سے جنہیں اللہ کا اتارا ہوا ناگوار ہے ایک کام میں ہم تمہاری مانیں گے اور اللہ ان کی چھپی ہوئی جانتا ہے
And when they come to you, they say, “We are Muslims” whereas they were disbelievers when they came in, and disbelievers when they went out; and Allah knows very well, what they hide.
فَكَيْفَ اِذَا تَوَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةُ يَضْرِبُوْنَ وُجُوْهَهُمْ وَاَدْبَارَهُمْ27 
تو کیسا ہوگا جب فرشتے ان کی روح قبض کریں گے ان کے منہ اور ان کی پیٹھیں مارتے ہوئے
And you will see many of them rushing towards sin and oppression, and to devour the forbidden; undoubtedly what they do is extremely evil.
ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمُ اتَّبَعُوْا مَآ اَسْخَـــطَ اللّٰهَ وَكَرِهُوْا رِضْوَانَهٗ فَاَحْبَــطَ اَعْمَالَهُمْ   ۧ28 
یہ اس لیے کہ وہ ایسی بات کے تابع ہوئے جس میں اللہ کی ناراضی ہے اور اس کی خوشی انہیں گوارا نہ ہوئی تو اس نے ان کے اعمال اَکارت کردیے
Why do not their priests and monks forbid them from speaking evil and devouring the forbidden? Undoubtedly what they do is extremely evil.
اَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌ اَنْ لَّنْ يُّخْرِجَ اللّٰهُ اَضْغَانَهُمْ29 
کیا جن کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے اس گھمنڈ میں ہیں کہ اللہ ان کے چھپے بَیر ظاہر نہ فرمائے گا
" And the Jews said, “Allah’s hand* is tied""; may their hands be tied - and they are accursed for saying so! In fact, both His hands * are free, He bestows upon whomever He wills; and O dear Prophet, this Book which has been sent down upon you from your
وَلَوْ نَشَاۗءُ لَاَرَيْنٰكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُمْ بِسِيْمٰهُمْ ۭ وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِيْ لَحْنِ الْـقَوْلِ ۭ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ اَعْمَالَكُمْ30 
اور اگر ہم چاہیں تو تمہیں ان کو دکھادیں کہ تم ان کی صورت سے پہچان لو اور ضرور تم انہیں بات کے اسلوب میں پہچان لو گے اور اللہ تمہارے عمل جانتا ہے
If the People given the Book(s) had accepted faith and been pious, We would have certainly redeemed them of their sins and would have certainly taken them into serene Gardens.
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ حَتّٰى نَعْلَمَ الْمُجٰهِدِيْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَالصّٰبِرِيْنَ ۙ وَنَبْلُوَا۟ اَخْبَارَكُمْ31 
اور ضرور ہم تمہیں جانچیں گے یہاں تک کہ دیکھ لیں تمہارے جہاد کرنے والوں اور صابروں کو اور تمہاری خبریں آزمالیں
And had they kept the Taurat and the Injeel established, and what was sent down towards them from their Lord, they would have received sustenance from above and from beneath their feet; among them is a group who is fair; but most of them commit extremely
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ وَشَاۗقُّوا الرَّسُوْلَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَـبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْهُدٰى ۙ لَنْ يَّضُرُّوا اللّٰهَ شَـيْــــًٔا ۭ وَسَيُحْبِطُ اَعْمَالَهُمْ32 
بیشک وہ جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکا اور رسول کی مخالفت کی بعد اس کے کہ ہدایت ان پر ظاہر ہوچکی تھی وہ ہرگز اللہ کو کچھ نقصان نہ پہچائیں گے، اور بہت جلد اللہ ان کا کیا دھرا اَکارت کردے گا
O Noble Messenger (Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him)! Convey all what has been sent down upon you from your Lord; and if you do not, then you have not conveyed any of His messages; and Allah will protect you from the people; indeed Alla
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوا الرَّسُوْلَ وَلَا تُبْطِلُوْٓا اَعْمَالَكُمْ33 
اے ایمان والو اللہ کا حکم مانو اور رسول کا حکم مانو اور اپنے عمل باطل نہ کرو
Say, “O People given the Book(s)! You are nothing until you establish the Taurat and the Injeel, and what was sent down towards you from your Lord”; and this Book which has been sent down upon you from your Lord will cause many of them to advance in thei
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ مَاتُوْا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَنْ يَّغْفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْ34 
بیشک جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکا پھر کافر ہی مرگئے تو اللہ ہر گز انہیں نہ بخشے گا
Indeed those who call themselves Muslims - and similarly among the Jews, and the Sabeans, and the Christians * - whoever sincerely accepts faith in Allah and the Last Day, and does good deeds - so there shall be no fear upon them nor shall they grieve. (
فَلَا تَهِنُوْا وَتَدْعُوْٓا اِلَى السَّلْمِ ڰ وَاَنْتُمُ الْاَعْلَوْنَ ڰ وَاللّٰهُ مَعَكُمْ وَلَنْ يَّتِرَكُمْ اَعْمَالَكُمْ35 
تو تم سستی نہ کرو اور آپ صلح کی طرف نہ بلاؤ اور تم ہی غالب آؤ گے، اور اللہ تمہارے ساتھ ہے اور وہ ہرگز تمہارے اعمال میں تمہیں نقصان نہ دے گا
We made a covenant with the Descendants of Israel and sent Noble Messengers towards them; whenever a Noble Messenger came to them with whatever was not according to their own desires, they denied some of them and some they slew.
اِنَّمَا الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَّلَهْوٌ ۭ وَاِنْ تُؤْمِنُوْا وَتَتَّقُوْا يُؤْتِكُمْ اُجُوْرَكُمْ وَلَا يَسْـَٔــلْكُمْ اَمْوَالَكُمْ36 
دنیا کی زندگی تو یہی کھیل کود ہے اور اگر تم ایمان لاؤ اور پرہیزگاری کرو تو وہ تم کو تمہارے ثواب عطا فرمائے گا اور کچھ تم سے تمہارے مال نہ مانگے گا
And they assumed that there will be no punishment, so they turned blind and deaf - then Allah accepted their penance, then again many of them turned blind and deaf; and Allah is seeing their deeds.
اِنْ يَّسْـَٔــلْكُمُوْهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوْا وَيُخْرِجْ اَضْغَانَكُمْ37 
اگر انہیں تم سے طلب کرے اور زیادہ طلب کرے تم بخل کرو گے اور وہ بخل تمہارے دلوں کے میل ظاہر کردے گا
They are certainly disbelievers who say, “Allah is actually the Messiah, the son of Maryam”; whereas the Messiah had said, “O Descendants of Israel, worship Allah Who is my Lord and (also) your Lord”; undoubtedly whoever ascribes partners with Allah, the
هٰٓاَنْتُمْ هٰٓؤُلَاۗءِ تُدْعَوْنَ لِتُنْفِقُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ۚ فَمِنْكُمْ مَّنْ يَّبْخَلُ ۚ وَمَنْ يَّبْخَلْ فَاِنَّمَا يَبْخَلُ عَنْ نَّفْسِهٖ ۭ وَاللّٰهُ الْغَنِيُّ وَاَنْتُمُ الْفُقَرَاۗءُ ۚ وَاِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ۙ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُوْنُوْٓا اَمْثَالَكُمْ   ۧ38 
ہاں ہاں یہ جو تم ہو بلائے جاتے ہو کہ اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ کرو تو تم میں کوئی بخل کرتا ہے اور جو بخل کرے وہ اپنی ہی جان پر بخل کرتا ہے اور اللہ بے نیاز ہے اور تم سب محتاج اور اگر تم منہ پھیرو تو وہ تمہارے سوا اور لوگ بدل لے گا پھر وہ تم جیسے نہ ہوں گے
Yes, undoubtedly it is you who are being called, that you may spend in Allah’s way; so some among you act miserly; and whoever is miserly, is being a miser upon himself; and Allah is the Independent (Wealthy - Not requiring anything), whereas you all are
