اٰیاتہا 59
 The Smoke / Ad Dukhan (Recite)

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان رحم والا
حٰـمۗ1 
حم
So it is; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes.
وَالْكِتٰبِ الْمُبِيْنِ2 
قسم اس روشن کتاب کی ۔
In it they will ask for all kinds of fruit, with safety.
اِنَّآ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ فِيْ لَيْلَةٍ مُّبٰرَكَةٍ اِنَّا كُنَّا مُنْذِرِيْنَ3 
بیشک ہم نے اُسے برکت والی رات میں اُتارا بیشک ہم ڈر سنانے والے ہیں ۔
They will not taste death again in it, except their former death; and Allah has saved them from the punishment of fire.
فِيْهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ اَمْرٍ حَكِيْمٍ4 
اس میں بانٹ دیا جاتا ہے ہر حکمت والا کام۔
By the munificence of your Lord; this is the great success.
اَمْرًا مِّنْ عِنْدِنَا ۭ اِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِيْنَ5 
ہمارے پاس کے حکم سے بیشک ہم بھیجنے والے ہیں ۔
And We have made this Qur’an easy in your language, for them to understand.
رَحْمَةً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ ۭ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ6 
تمہارے رب کی طرف سے رحمت بیشک وہی سنتاجانتاہے۔
Therefore wait (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) - they too are waiting.
رَبِّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۘ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّوْقِنِيْنَ7 
وہ جو رب ہے آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے اگر تمہیں یقین ہو۔
Ha; Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language - Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.)
لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ يُـحْيٖ وَيُمِيْتُ ۭ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ اٰبَاۗىِٕكُمُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ8 
اس کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں وہ جِلائے اور مارے تمہارا رب اور تمہارے اگلے باپ دادا کا رب۔
The sending down of the Book is from Allah, the Most Honourable, the Wise.
بَلْ هُمْ فِيْ شَكٍّ يَّلْعَبُوْنَ9 
بلکہ وہ شک میں پڑے کھیل رہے ہیں ۔
Indeed in the heavens and the earth are signs for believers.
فَارْتَـقِبْ يَوْمَ تَاْتِي السَّمَاۗءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِيْنٍ10 
تو تم اس دن کے منتظر رہو جب آسمان ایک ظاہر دھواں لائے گا۔
And in your creation, and all the creatures He scatters in the earth - in them are signs for the people who are certain.
يَّغْشَى النَّاسَ ۭ ھٰذَا عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ11 
کہ لوگوں کو ڈھانپ لے گا یہ ہے دردناک عذاب۔
And in the alternation of night and day, and in the means of sustenance - water - which Allah sends down from the sky whereby He gave life to the earth after its death, and in the movement of the winds - (in all these) are signs for people of intellect.
رَبَّنَا اكْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ اِنَّا مُؤْمِنُوْنَ12 
اس دن کہیں گے اے ہمارے رب ہم پر سے عذاب کھول دے ہم ایمان لاتے ہیں ۔
These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you with the truth; so forsaking Allah and His signs, what will they believe in?
اَنّٰى لَهُمُ الذِّكْرٰى وَقَدْ جَاۗءَهُمْ رَسُوْلٌ مُّبِيْنٌ13 
کہاں سے ہو انہیں نصیحت ماننا حالانکہ ان کے پاس صاف بیان فرمانے والا رسول تشریف لاچکا۔
Ruin is for every great slanderer, excessive sinner.
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوْا مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُوْنٌ14 
پھراس سے روگرداں ہوئے اور بولے سکھایا ہوا دیوانہ ہے۔
Who hears the verses of Allah which are recited to him, then remains stubborn, proud, as if he did not hear them; therefore give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment.
اِنَّا كَاشِفُوا الْعَذَابِ قَلِيْلًا اِنَّكُمْ عَاۗىِٕدُوْنَ15 
ہم کچھ دنوں کو عذاب کھولے دیتے ہیں تم پھر وہی کرو گے۔
And when he comes to know about any of the verses, he mocks at it; for them is a disgraceful punishment.
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ الْبَطْشَةَ الْكُبْرٰى ۚ اِنَّا مُنْتَقِمُوْنَ16 
جس دن ہم سب سے بڑی پکڑ پکڑیں گے بیشک ہم بدلہ لینے والے ہیں ۔
Hell is after them; and what they have earned will not benefit them at all, nor those whom they have chosen as supporters besides Allah; and for them is a terrible punishment.
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَاۗءَهُمْ رَسُوْلٌ كَرِيْمٌ17 
اور بیشک ہم نے ان سے پہلے فرعون کی قوم کو جانچا اور اُن کے پاس ایک معزز رسول تشریف لایا۔
This is the (true) guidance; and for those who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord is the severest of painful punishments.
اَنْ اَدُّوْٓا اِلَيَّ عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ ۭ اِنِّىْ لَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ اَمِيْنٌ18 
کہ اللہ کے بندوں کو مجھے سپرد کردو بیشک میں تمہارے لیے امانت والا رسول ہوں ۔
It is Allah Who has subjected the sea for you so that ships may sail upon it by His command, and for you to seek His munificence, and so that you may give thanks.
وَّاَنْ لَّا تَعْلُوْا عَلَي اللّٰهِ ۭ اِنِّىْٓ اٰتِيْكُمْ بِسُلْطٰنٍ مُّبِيْنٍ19 
اور اللہ کے مقابل سرکشی نہ کرو میں تمہارے پاس ایک روشن سند لاتا ہوں ۔
And has subjected for you all whatever is in the heavens and in the earth, by His command; indeed in this are signs for people who ponder.
وَاِنِّىْ عُذْتُ بِرَبِّيْ وَرَبِّكُمْ اَنْ تَرْجُمُوْنِ20 
اور میں پناہ لیتا ہوں اپنے رب اور تمہارے رب کی اس سے کہ تم مجھے سنگسار کرو ۔
Tell the believers to ignore those who do not expect the days of Allah, in order that Allah may give a nation the reward of what they used to earn.
وَاِنْ لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوْا لِيْ فَاعْتَزِلُوْنِ21 
اور اگر تم میرا یقین نہ لاؤ تو مجھ سے کنارے ہوجاؤ۔
Whoever does a good deed, so it is for his own good; and whoever commits evil, does for his own harm; and you will then be returned towards your Lord.
فَدَعَا رَبَّهٗٓ اَنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۗءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُوْنَ22 
تو اُس نے اپنے رب سے دعا کی کہ یہ مجرم لوگ ہیں ۔
And indeed We gave the Descendants of Israel the Book, and the rule, and the Prophethood, and gave good things for sustenance and gave them superiority over all others of their time.
فَاَسْرِ بِعِبَادِيْ لَيْلًا اِنَّكُمْ مُّتَّبَعُوْنَ23 
ہم نے حکم فرمایا کہ میرے بندوں کو راتوں رات لے نکل ضرور تمہارا پیچھا کیا جائے گا۔
And We gave them clear proofs in the command; so they did not differ except after the knowledge had come to them - due to jealousy among themselves; indeed your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning the matter in which they d
وَاتْرُكِ الْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۭ اِنَّهُمْ جُنْدٌ مُّغْرَقُوْنَ24 
اور دریا کو یونہی جگہ جگہ سے کھلاچھوڑ دے بیشک وہ لشکر ڈبو یا جائے گا۔
We then placed you (O dear prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) upon the clear path of the command, therefore continue following it and do not listen to the desires of the ignorant.
كَمْ تَرَكُوْا مِنْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍ25 
کتنے چھوڑ گئے باغ اور چشمے۔
Indeed they cannot benefit you at all against Allah; and indeed the unjust are the friends of each other; and Allah is the Friend of the pious.
وَّزُرُوْعٍ وَّمَقَامٍ كَرِيْمٍ26 
او رکھیت اور عمدہ مکانات ۔
This is an enlightenment for mankind, and a guidance and mercy for the people of faith.
وَّنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوْا فِيْهَا فٰكِهِيْنَ27 
اور نعمتیں جن میں فارغُ الْبال تھے۔
Do those who commit evil assume that We will make them equal to those who believe and do good deeds, therefore both becoming equal in life and death? What an evil judgement they impose!
كَذٰلِكَ ۣوَاَوْرَثْنٰهَا قَوْمًا اٰخَرِيْنَ28 
ہم نے یونہی کیا اور ان کا وارث دوسری قوم کو کردیا۔
And Allah has created the heavens and the earth with the truth, and so that every soul is repaid for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَاۗءُ وَالْاَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوْا مُنْظَرِيْنَ   ۧ29 
تو ان پر آسمان اور زمین نہ روئے اور انہیں مہلت نہ دی گئی۔
Just look at him who makes his desire as his God, and Allah has sent him astray despite his having knowledge, and set a seal upon his ears and his heart, and a covering upon his eyes; so who will guide him after Allah? So do you not ponder?
وَلَــقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۗءِيْلَ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِيْنِ30 
اور بیشک ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو ذلت کے عذاب سے نجات بخشی۔
And they said, “There is nothing except our life of this world - we die and we live - and nothing destroys us except the passage of time”; and they do not have any knowledge of it; they only make guesses.
مِنْ فِرْعَوْنَ ۭ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ الْمُسْرِفِيْنَ31 
فرعون سے بیشک وہ متکبر حد سے بڑھنے والوں میں سے تھا۔
And when Our clear verses are recited to them, their only argument is, “Bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!”
وَلَــقَدِ اخْتَرْنٰهُمْ عَلٰي عِلْمٍ عَلَي الْعٰلَمِيْنَ32 
اور بیشک ہم نے اُنہیں دانستہ چن لیا اس زمانہ والوں سے۔
Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), “It is Allah Who gives you life, then will give you death, then will gather you all on the Day of Resurrection in which there is no doubt, but most people do not know.”
وَاٰتَيْنٰهُمْ مِّنَ الْاٰيٰتِ مَا فِيْهِ بَلٰۗــــــؤٌا مُّبِيْنٌ33 
اورہم نے اُنہیں وہ نشانیاں عطا فرمائیں جن میں صریح انعام تھا۔
And to Allah only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and when the Last Day is established - on that day the followers of falsehood will suffer loss.
اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۗءِ لَيَقُوْلُوْنَ34 
بیشک یہ کہتے ہیں ۔
And you will see every group down on its knees; every group will be called towards its book of deeds; “This day you will be repaid for what you did.”
اِنْ هِىَ اِلَّا مَوْتَـتُنَا الْاُوْلٰى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنْشَرِيْنَ35 
وہ تو نہیں مگر ہمارا ایک دفعہ کا مرنا اور ہم اٹھائے نہ جائیں گے۔
“This Book of Ours speaks against you with the truth; indeed We had been recording all what you did.”
فَاْتُوْا بِاٰبَاۗىِٕنَآ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ36 
تو ہمارے باپ دادا کو لے آؤ اگر تم سچے ہو۔
So those who believed and did good deeds - their Lord will admit them into His mercy; this is the clear triumph.
اَهُمْ خَيْرٌ اَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّــعٍ ۙ وَّالَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۭ اَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ ۡ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا مُجْرِمِيْنَ37 
کیا وہ بہتر ہیں یا تُبَّع کی قوم اور جو ان سے پہلے تھے ہم نے انہیں ہلاک کردیا بیشک وہ مجرم لوگ تھے۔
And to those who disbelieved, it will be said “Was it not that Our verses were recited to you? In response you were haughty and were a guilty people.”
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لٰعِبِيْنَ38 
اور ہم نے نہ بنائے آسمان اور زمین اور جو کچھ اُن کے درمیان ہے کھیل کے طور پر ۔
“And when it was said, ‘Indeed Allah’s promise is true and there is no doubt regarding the Last Day”, you used to say, ‘We do not know what the Last Day is - we think it is nothing except an imagination, and we are not convinced.’ ”
مَا خَلَقْنٰهُمَآ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ39 
ہم نے اُنہیں نہ بنایا مگر حق کے ساتھ لیکن ان میں اکثر جانتے نہیں ۔
And the evils of their deeds appeared to them, and the punishment they used to mock at encompassed them.
اِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ مِيْقَاتُهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ40 
بیشک فیصلہ کا دن ان سب کی میعاد ہے۔
And it will be said, “This day We shall forsake you, the way you had forgotten the confronting of this day of yours - and your destination is the fire, and you do not have any supporters.”
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِيْ مَوْلًى عَنْ مَّوْلًى شَـيْــــًٔا وَّلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُوْنَ41 
جس دن کوئی دوست کسی دوست کے کچھ کام نہ آئے گا اور نہ ان کی مدد ہوگی۔
“This is because you mocked at the signs of Allah, and the worldly life deceived you”; so this day they are not to be removed from the fire, nor will anyone seek amends from them.
اِلَّا مَنْ رَّحِمَ اللّٰهُ ۭ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ   ۧ42 
مگر جس پر اللہ رحم کرے بیشک وہی عزت والا مہربان ہے۔
So all praise is for Allah only, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth, the Lord of the Creation!
اِنَّ شَجَرَتَ الزَّقُّوْمِ43 
بیشک تھوہڑ کا پیڑ۔
And for Him only is the Greatness, in the heavens and in the earth; and He only is the Most Honourable, the Wise.
طَعَامُ الْاَثِيْمِ44 
گنہگاروں کی خوراک ہے۔

كَالْمُهْلِ ڔ يَغْلِيْ فِي الْبُطُوْنِ45 
گلے ہوئے تانبے کی طرح پیٹوں میں جوش مارے۔
The sending down of this Book is from Allah the Most Honourable, the Wise.
كَغَلْيِ الْحَمِيْمِ46 
جیسا کھولتا پانی جوش مارے۔
We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with the truth, and for a fixed term; and the disbelievers have turned away from what they are warned!
خُذُوْهُ فَاعْتِلُوْهُ اِلٰى سَوَاۗءِ الْجَحِيْمِ47 
اسے پکڑو ٹھیک بھڑکتی آگ کی طرف بزور گھسیٹتے لے جاؤ۔
Proclaim, (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), “What is your opinion - regarding those whom you worship other than Allah - show me which part of the earth they have created, or do they own any portion of the heavens? Bring to me a
ثُمَّ صُبُّوْا فَوْقَ رَاْسِهٖ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْحَمِيْمِ48 
پھر اس کے سر کے اوپر کھولتے پانی کا عذاب ڈالو۔
And who is more astray than one who worships those, instead of Allah, who cannot listen to their prayer until* the Day of Resurrection, and who do not even know of their worship! (* Will never listen.)
ذُقْ ڌ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْكَرِيْمُ49 
چکھ ہاں ہاں تو ہی بڑا عزت والا کرم والا ہے۔
And on the day when people are gathered, they will become their enemies, and will reject their worshippers. (The idols will give testimony against the polytheists.)
اِنَّ ھٰذَا مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تَمْتَرُوْنَ50 
یشک یہ ہے وہ جس میں تم شبہ کرتے تھے۔
And when Our clear verses are recited to them, the disbelievers say regarding the Truth that has come to them, “This is an obvious magic!”
اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ فِيْ مَقَامٍ اَمِيْنٍ51 
بیشک ڈر والے امان کی جگہ میں ہیں ۔
What! They dare say, “He has fabricated it”? Say (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), “If I have fabricated it, then (I know that) you have no power to support me against Allah; He well knows the matters you are involved in; He is
فِيْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍ52 
باغوں اور چشموں میں ۔
Say, “I am not something new* among the Noble Messengers, nor do I know (on my own) what will happen to me** or with you; I only follow that which is divinely revealed to me, and I am purely a Herald of clear warning. (* I am like the earlier ones. ** My
يَّلْبَسُوْنَ مِنْ سُنْدُسٍ وَّاِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقٰبِلِيْنَ53 
پہنیں گے کَریب اور قَنادِیز آمنے سامنے۔
Say, “What is your opinion - if the Qur’an is from Allah and you have rejected faith in it, and a witness among the Descendants of Israel has already testified upon this and accepted faith, while you became arrogant? Indeed Allah does not guide the unjus
كَذٰلِكَ ۣ وَزَوَّجْنٰهُمْ بِحُوْرٍ عِيْنٍ54 
یونہی ہے اور ہم نے انہیں بیاہ دیا نہایت سیاہ اور روشن بڑی آنکھوں والیوں سے۔
And the disbelievers said regarding the Muslims, “If there were any good in it, the Muslims would not have surpassed us in achieving it!”; and since they did not receive guidance with it, they will now say, “This is an old slander.”
يَدْعُوْنَ فِيْهَا بِكُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ اٰمِنِيْنَ55 
اس میں ہر قسم کا میوہ مانگیں گے امن و امان سے۔
And whereas before this exists the Book of Moosa, a guide and a mercy; and this is a Book giving testimony, in the Arabic language, to warn the unjust; and to give glad tidings to the virtuous.
لَا يَذُوْقُوْنَ فِيْهَا الْمَوْتَ اِلَّا الْمَوْتَةَ الْاُوْلٰى ۚ وَوَقٰىهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيْمِ56 
اس میں پہلی موت کے سوا پھر موت نہ چکھیں گے اور اللہ نے اُنہیں آگ کے عذاب سے بچالیا۔
Indeed those who said, “Allah is our Lord”, and then remained steadfast - upon them is neither any fear nor shall they grieve.
فَضْلًا مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ ۭ ذٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيْمُ57 
تمہارے ربّ کے فضل سے یہی بڑی کامیابی ہے۔
They are the People of Paradise, abiding in it forever; the reward of their deeds.
فَاِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ58 
تو ہم نے اس قرآن کو تمہاری زبان میں آسان کیا کہ وہ سمجھیں ۔
And We have commanded man to be good towards parents; his mother bore him with hardship, and delivered him with hardship; and carrying him and weaning him is for thirty months; until when he * reached maturity and became forty years of age, he said, “My
فَارْتَقِبْ اِنَّهُمْ مُّرْتَقِبُوْنَ   ۧ59 
تو تم انتظار کرو وہ بھی کسی انتظار میں ہیں ۔
These are the ones whose good deeds We will accept, and overlook their shortfalls - among the People of Paradise; a true promise which is being given to them.
