بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان رحم والا
صۗ وَالْقُرْاٰنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ1 
اس نامور قرآن کی قسم
Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end.
بَلِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فِيْ عِزَّةٍ وَّشِقَاقٍ2 
بلکہ کافر تکبر اور خلاف میں ہیں
This is for the virtuous; and indeed for the rebellious is a wretched destination.
كَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِّنْ قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوْا وَّلَاتَ حِيْنَ مَنَاصٍ3 
ہم نے ان سے پہلے کتنی سنگتیں کھپائیں تو اب وہ پکاریں اور چھوٹنے کا وقت نہ تھا
Hell; which they shall enter; what an evil resting-place!
وَعَجِبُوْٓا اَنْ جَاۗءَهُمْ مُّنْذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ ۡ وَقَالَ الْكٰفِرُوْنَ ھٰذَا سٰحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ4 
اور انہیں اس کا اچنبھا ہوا کہ ان کے پاس انہیں میں کا ایک ڈر سنانے والا تشریف لایا اور کافر بولے یہ جادوگر ہے بڑا جھوٹا
This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it - boiling hot water and pus.
اَجَعَلَ الْاٰلِـهَةَ اِلٰــهًا وَّاحِدًا ښ اِنَّ ھٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ5 
کیا اس نے بہت خداؤں کا ایک خدا کردیا بیشک یہ عجیب بات ہے
And similar other punishments in pairs.
وَانْطَلَقَ الْمَلَاُ مِنْهُمْ اَنِ امْشُوْا وَاصْبِرُوْا عَلٰٓي اٰلِـهَتِكُمْ ښ اِنَّ ھٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُّرَادُ6 
اور ان میں کے سردار چلے کہ اس کے پاس سے چل دو اور اپنے خداؤں پر صابر رہو بیشک اس میں اس کا کوئی مطلب ہے
“Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!”
مَا سَمِعْنَا بِھٰذَا فِي الْمِلَّةِ الْاٰخِرَةِ ښ اِنْ ھٰذَآ اِلَّا اخْتِلَاقٌ7 
یہ تو ہم نے سب سے پہلے دینِ نصرانیت میں بھی نہ سنی یہ تو نری نئی گڑھت ہے
The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination.
ءَاُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِنْۢ بَيْنِنَا ۭ بَلْ هُمْ فِيْ شَكٍّ مِّنْ ذِكْرِيْ ۚ بَلْ لَّمَّا يَذُوْقُوْا عَذَابِ8 
کیا ان پر قرآن اتارا گیا ہم سب میں سے بلکہ وہ شک میں ہیں میری کتاب سے بلکہ ابھی میری مار نہیں چکھی ہے
They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us - double the punishment of the fire for him!”
اَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَاۗىِٕنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ الْعَزِيْزِ الْوَهَّابِ9 
کیا وہ تمہارے رب کی رحمت کے خزانچی ہیں وہ عزت والا بہت عطا فرمانے والا ہے
And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?”
اَمْ لَهُمْ مُّلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۣ فَلْيَرْتَقُوْا فِي الْاَسْبَابِ10 
کیا ان کے لیے ہے سلطنت آسمانوں اور زمین کی اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے، تو رسیاں لٹکا کر چڑھ نہ جائیں
“Did we mock at them or did our eyes turn away from them?”
جُنْدٌ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُوْمٌ مِّنَ الْاَحْزَابِ11 
یہ ایک ذلیل لشکر ہے انہیں لشکروں میں سے جو وہیں بھگادیا جائے گا
Indeed this is really true – the people of the hell quarrelling among themselves.
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوْحٍ وَّعَادٌ وَّفِرْعَوْنُ ذُوالْاَوْتَادِ12 
ان سے پہلے جھٹلا چکے ہیں نوح کی قوم اور عاد اور چومیخا کرنے والے فرعون
Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I am purely a Herald of Warning - and there is no God except Allah, the One, the All Dominant.”
وَثَمُــوْدُ وَقَوْمُ لُوْطٍ وَّاَصْحٰبُ لْــــَٔـيْكَةِ ۭ اُولٰۗىِٕكَ الْاَحْزَابُ13 
اور ثمود اور لوط کی قوم اور بن والے یہ ہیں وہ گروہ
“Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them - the Almighty, the Oft Forgiving.”
اِنْ كُلٌّ اِلَّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ   ۧ14 
ان میں کوئی ایسا نہیں جس نے رسولوں کو نہ جھٹلایا ہو تو میرا عذاب لازم ہوا
Say, “That is a great tidings.”
وَمَا يَنْظُرُ هٰٓؤُلَاۗءِ اِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَّاحِدَةً مَّا لَهَا مِنْ فَوَاقٍ15 
اور یہ راہ نہیں دیکھتے مگر ایک چیخ کی جسے کوئی پھیر نہیں سکتا
“You are neglectful of it!”
وَقَالُوْا رَبَّنَا عَجِّلْ لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ16 
اور بولے اے ہمارے رب ہمارا حصہ ہمیں جلد دے دے حساب کے دن سے پہلے
“What did I know of the heavenly world, when the angels had disputed.”
اِصْبِرْ عَلٰي مَا يَقُوْلُوْنَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوٗدَ ذَا الْاَيْدِ ۚ اِنَّهٗٓ اَوَّابٌ17 
تم ان کی باتوں پر صبر کرو اور ہمارے بندے داؤد نعمتوں والے کو یاد کرو بیشک وہ بڑا رجوع کرنے والا ہے
“I receive only the divine revelations, that I am purely a clear Herald of Warning.”
اِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا الْجِبَالَ مَعَهٗ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْاِشْرَاقِ18 
بیشک ہم نے اس کے ساتھ پہاڑ مسخر فرمادیے کہ تسبیح کرتے شام کو اور سورج چمکتے
(Remember) When your Lord said to the angels, “I will create a human from clay.” -
وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُوْرَةً ۭ كُلٌّ لَّهٗٓ اَوَّابٌ19 
اور پرندے جمع کیے ہوئے سب اس کے فرمانبردار تھے
“So when I have perfected him and breathed into him a spirit from Myself, (you all) fall down before him in prostration.”
وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهٗ وَاٰتَيْنٰهُ الْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ الْخِطَابِ20 
اور ہم نے اس کی سلطنت کو مضبوط کیا اور اسے حکمت اور قولِ فیصل دیا
So all the angels prostrated, every one, without exception.
وَهَلْ اَتٰىكَ نَبَؤُا الْخَصْمِ ۘ اِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا الْمِحْرَابَ21 
اور کیا تمہیں اس دعوے والوں کی بھی خبر آئی جب وہ دیوار کود کر داؤد کی مسجد میں آئے
Except Iblis; he was proud and was, from the beginning, a disbeliever.
اِذْ دَخَلُوْا عَلٰي دَاوٗدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ قَالُوْا لَا تَخَفْ ۚ خَصْمٰنِ بَغٰى بَعْضُنَا عَلٰي بَعْضٍ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَــقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِــطْ وَاهْدِنَآ اِلٰى سَوَاۗءِ الصِّرَاطِ22 
جب وہ داؤد پر داخل ہوئے تو وہ ان سے گھبرا گیا انہوں نے عرض کی ڈریے نہیں ہم دو فریق ہیں کہ ایک نے دوسرے پر زیادتی کی ہے تو ہم میں سچا فیصلہ فرمادیجئے اور خلافِ حق نہ کیجئے اور ہمیں سیدھی راہ بتایے
Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor).
اِنَّ ھٰذَآ اَخِيْ ۣ لَهٗ تِسْعٌ وَّتِسْعُوْنَ نَعْجَةً وَّلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَّاحِدَةٌ ۣ فَقَالَ اَكْفِلْنِيْهَا وَعَزَّنِيْ فِي الْخِطَابِ23 
بیشک یہ میرا بھائی ہے اس کے پاس ننانوے دُنبیاں ہیں اور میرے پاس ایک دُنبی، اب یہ کہتا ہے وہ بھی مجھے حوالے کردے اور بات میں مجھ پر زور ڈالتا ہے
Said Iblis, “I am better than him; You made me from fire, and You have created him from clay!”
قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ اِلٰى نِعَاجِهٖ ۭ وَاِنَّ كَثِيْرًا مِّنَ الْخُلَطَاۗءِ لَيَبْغِيْ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰي بَعْضٍ اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَقَلِيْلٌ مَّا هُمْ ۭ وَظَنَّ دَاوٗدُ اَنَّمَا فَتَنّٰهُ فَاسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهٗ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَّاَنَابَ  ۞24 
داؤد نے فرمایا بیشک یہ تجھ پر زیادتی کرتا ہے کہ تیری دُنبی اپنی دُنبیوں میں ملانے کو مانگتا ہے، اور بیشک اکثر ساجھے والے ایک دوسرے پر زیادتی کرتے ہیں مگر جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے اور وہ بہت تھوڑے ہیں اب داؤد سمجھا کہ ہم نے یہ اس کی جانچ کی تھی تو اپنے رب سے معافی مانگی اور سجدے میں گر پڑا اور رجوع لایا، (السجدة ۱۰)
He said, “Therefore exit from heaven, for you have been outcast.” (To disrespect the Prophets – peace and blessings be upon them – is blasphemy.)
فَغَفَرْنَا لَهٗ ذٰلِكَ ۭ وَاِنَّ لَهٗ عِنْدَنَا لَـزُلْفٰى وَحُسْنَ مَاٰبٍ25 
تو ہم نے اسے یہ معاف فرمایا، اور بیشک اس کے لیے ہماری بارگاہ میں ضرور قرب اور اچھا ٹھکانا ہے
“And indeed My curse is upon you till the Day of Judgement.”
يٰدَاوٗدُ اِنَّا جَعَلْنٰكَ خَلِيْفَةً فِي الْاَرْضِ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ الْهَوٰى فَيُضِلَّكَ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ۭاِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَضِلُّوْنَ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيْدٌۢ بِمَا نَسُوْا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ   ۧ26 
اے داؤد بیشک ہم نے تجھے زمین میں نائب کیا تو لوگوں میں سچا حکم کر اور خواہش کے پیچھے نہ جانا کہ تجھے اللہ کی راہ سے بہکادے گی، بیشک وہ جو اللہ کی راہ سے بہکتے ہیں ان کے لیے سخت عذاب ہے اس پر کہ وہ حساب کے دن کو بھول بیٹھے
He said, “My Lord! Therefore give me respite till the day when all will be raised.”
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاۗءَ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلًا ۭ ذٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِّــلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنَ النَّارِ27 
اور ہم نے آسمان اور زمین اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے بیکار نہ بنائے، یہ کافروں کا گمان ہے تو کافروں کی خرابی ہے آگ سے
Said Allah, “You are therefore among those given respite.”
اَمْ نَجْعَلُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ كَالْمُفْسِدِيْنَ فِي الْاَرْضِ ۡ اَمْ نَجْعَلُ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ كَالْفُجَّارِ28 
کیا ہم انہیں جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے ان جیسا کردیں جو زمین میں فساد پھیلاتے ہیں، یا ہم پرہیزگاروں کو شریر بے حکموں کے برابر ٹھہرادیں
“Until the time of the known day.”
كِتٰبٌ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ اِلَيْكَ مُبٰرَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوْٓا اٰيٰتِهٖ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ اُولُوا الْاَلْبَابِ29 
یہ ایک کتاب ہے کہ ہم نے تمہاری طرف اتاری برکت والی تاکہ اس کی آیتوں کو سوچیں اور عقلمند نصیحت مانیں
He said, “Therefore, by oath of Your honour, I will surely mislead all of them.”
وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوٗدَ سُلَيْمٰنَ ۭ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۭ اِنَّهٗٓ اَوَّابٌ30 
اور ہم نے داؤد کو سلیمان عطا فرمایا، کیا اچھا بندہ بیشک وہ بہت رجوع لانے والا
“Except Your chosen bondmen among them.”
اِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْعَشِيِّ الصّٰفِنٰتُ الْجِيَادُ31 
جبکہ اس پر پیش کیے گئے تیسرے پہر کو کہ روکئے تو تین پاؤں پر کھڑے ہوں چوتھے سم کا کنارہ زمین پر لگائے ہوئے اور چلائے تو ہوا ہوجائیں
Said Allah, “So this is the truth; and I speak only the truth.” -
فَقَالَ اِنِّىْٓ اَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ الْخَيْرِ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّيْ ۚ حَتّٰى تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ32 
تو سلیمان نے کہا مجھے ان گھوڑوں کی محبت پسند آئی ہے اپنے رب کی یاد کے لیے پھر انہیں چلانے کا حکم دیا یہاں تک کہ نگاہ سے پردے میں چھپ گئے
“That I will fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all together.”
رُدُّوْهَا عَلَيَّ ۭ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحًۢا بِالسُّوْقِ وَالْاَعْنَاقِ33 
پھر حکم دیا کہ انہیں میرے پاس واپس لاؤ تو ان کی پنڈلیوں اور گردنوں پر ہاتھ پھیرنے لگا
Say (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) “I do not ask any fee from you for the Qur’an, and I am not a fabricator.”
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمٰنَ وَاَلْقَيْنَا عَلٰي كُرْسِيِّهٖ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ اَنَابَ34 
اور بیشک ہم نے سلیمان کو جانچا اور اس کے تخت پر ایک بے جان بدن ڈال دیا پھر رجوع لایا
“It is not but an advice for the entire world.”
قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَهَبْ لِيْ مُلْكًا لَّا يَنْۢبَغِيْ لِاَحَدٍ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِيْ ۚ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ35 
عرض کی اے میرے رب مجھے بخش دے اور مجھے ایسی سلطنت عطا کر کہ میرے بعد کسی کو لائق نہ ہو بیشک تو ہی بڑی دین والا
“And you will come to know of its tidings, after a while.”
فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيْحَ تَجْرِيْ بِاَمْرِهٖ رُخَاۗءً حَيْثُ اَصَابَ36 
تو ہم نے ہوا اس کے بس میں کردی کہ اس کے حکم سے نرم نرم چلتی جہاں وہ چاہتا
The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Most Honourable, the Wise.
وَالشَّيٰطِيْنَ كُلَّ بَنَّاۗءٍ وَّغَوَّاصٍ37 
اور دیو بس میں کردیے ہر معمار اور غوطہ خور
We have indeed divinely revealed the Book to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) with the truth, therefore worship Allah, as His sincere bondman.
وَّاٰخَرِيْنَ مُقَرَّنِيْنَ فِي الْاَصْفَادِ38 
اور دوسرے اور بیڑیوں میں جکڑے ہوئے
Pay heed! Worship is for Allah only; and those who have taken others as their supporters beside Him say; “We worship * them only so that they get us closer to Allah”; Allah will surely judge between them regarding the matter in which they dispute; indeed
ھٰذَا عَطَاۗؤُنَا فَامْنُنْ اَوْ اَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ39 
یہ ہماری عطا ہے اب تو چاہے تو احسان کر یا روک رکھ تجھ پر کچھ حساب نہیں
Were Allah to create a son * for Himself, He would have chosen any one from His creation! Purity is to Him! He is Allah, the One, the All Dominant. (*Which is impossible.)
وَاِنَّ لَهٗ عِنْدَنَا لَزُلْفٰى وَحُسْنَ مَاٰبٍ   ۧ40 
اور بیشک اس کے لیے ہماری بارگاہ میں ضرور قرب اور اچھا ٹھکانا ہے
It is He Who created the heavens and the earth with the truth; He envelops the night over day and envelops the day over night, and He has subjected the sun and the moon; each one runs for its appointed term; pay heed! He only is the Most Honourable, the
وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَآ اَيُّوْبَ ۘ اِذْ نَادٰى رَبَّهٗٓ اَنِّىْ مَسَّنِيَ الشَّيْطٰنُ بِنُصْبٍ وَّعَذَابٍ41 
اور یاد کرو ہمارے بندہ ایوب کو جب اس نے اپنے رب کو پکارا کہ مجھے شیطان نے تکلیف اور ایذا لگادی،
It is He Who created you from a single being, and then from the same being created its spouse, and sent down for you eight pairs of animals; He creates you in your mothers’ wombs, from one sort to another, in a triple darkness; such is Allah, your Lord –
اُرْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۚ ھٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌۢ بَارِدٌ وَّشَرَابٌ42 
ہم نے فرمایا زمین پر اپنا پاؤں مار یہ ہے ٹھنڈا چشمہ نہانے اور پینے کو
If you become ungrateful, then (know that) indeed Allah is Independent of you; and He does not like the ungratefulness of His bondmen; and if you give thanks, He is pleased with it for you; and no burdened soul will bear another soul’s burden; you have t
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهٗٓ اَهْلَهٗ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَذِكْرٰى لِاُولِي الْاَلْبَابِ43 
اور ہم نے اسے اس کے گھر والے اور ان کے برابر اور عطا فرمادیے اپنی رحمت کرنے اور عقلمندوں کی نصیحت کو
And when some hardship strikes man, he prays to his Lord, inclined only towards Him – then when Allah grants him a favour from Himself, he forgets why he had prayed to Him earlier, and sets up equals to Allah in order to mislead from Allah’s way; proclai
وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَاضْرِبْ بِّهٖ وَلَا تَحْــنَثْ ۭاِنَّا وَجَدْنٰهُ صَابِرًا ۭ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۭ اِنَّهٗٓ اَوَّابٌ44 
اور فرمایا کہ اپنے ہاتھ میں ایک جھاڑو لے کر اس سے مار دے اور قسم نہ توڑ بے ہم نے اسے صابر پایا کیا اچھا بندہ بیشک وہ بہت رجوع لانے والا ہے
Will he, whose night hours pass in obedience while prostrating and standing, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, ever be equal to the disobedient? Proclaim, “Are the knowledgeable and the ignorant equal?” It is only the men of int
وَاذْكُرْ عِبٰدَنَآ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَاِسْحٰقَ وَيَعْقُوْبَ اُولِي الْاَيْدِيْ وَالْاَبْصَارِ45 
اور یاد کرو ہمارے بندوں ابراہیم اور اسحاق اور یعقوب قدرت اور علم والوں کو
Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), “O my slaves who have accepted faith! Fear your Lord; for those who do good deeds in this world, is goodness (in return); and Allah’s earth is spacious; it is the steadfast who will be
اِنَّآ اَخْلَصْنٰهُمْ بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى الدَّارِ46 
بیشک ہم نے انہیں ایک کھری بات سے امتیاز بخشا کہ وہ اس گھر کی یاد ہے
Say, “I am commanded that I must worship Allah as His sincere bondman.” (And so must you too.)
وَاِنَّهُمْ عِنْدَنَا لَمِنَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ الْاَخْيَارِ47 
اور بیشک وہ ہمارے نزدیک چُنے ہوئے پسندیدہ ہیں
“And I am commanded that I be the first to submit.”
وَاذْكُرْ اِسْمٰعِيْلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۭ وَكُلٌّ مِّنَ الْاَخْيَارِ48 
اور یاد کرو اسماعیل اور یسع اور ذو الکفل کو اورسب اچھے ہیں
Say, “Were I to disobey my Lord, I too would fear the punishment of the great Day (of Resurrection).”
ھٰذَا ذِكْرٌ ۭ وَاِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ لَحُسْنَ مَاٰبٍ49 
یہ نصیحت ہے اور بیشک پرہیزگاروں کا ٹھکانا
Proclaim, “I worship only Allah, as His sincere bondman.”
جَنّٰتِ عَدْنٍ مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّهُمُ الْاَبْوَابُ50 
بھلا بسنے کے باغ ان کے لیے سب دروازے کھلے ہوئے
“Therefore you can worship what you want besides Him!” Say, “The worst losers are those who will lose themselves and their household on the Day of Resurrection; pay heed! This is the plain loss!”
مُتَّكِــــِٕيْنَ فِيْهَا يَدْعُوْنَ فِيْهَا بِفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيْرَةٍ وَّشَرَابٍ51 
ان میں تکیہ لگائے ان میں بہت سے میوے اور شراب مانگتے ہیں
Above them are mountains of fire and beneath them are mountains of fire; Allah scares His bondmen with this; “O My bondmen! Fear Me!”
وَعِنْدَهُمْ قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرْفِ اَتْرَابٌ52 
اور ان کے پاس وہ بیبیاں ہیں کہ اپنے شوہر کے سوا اور کی طرف آنکھ نہیں اٹھاتیں، ایک عمر کی
And those who stayed away from the worship of idols, and inclined towards Allah – for them are glad tidings; therefore give glad tidings to My bondmen. -
ھٰذَا مَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ لِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ53 
یہ ہے وہ جس کا تمہیں وعدہ دیا جاتا ہے حساب کے دن
Those who heed attentively and follow the best from it; it is these whom Allah has guided, and it is these who have intelligence.
اِنَّ ھٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهٗ مِنْ نَّفَادٍ54 
بیشک یہ ہمارا رزق ہے کہ کبھی ختم نہ ہوگا
So will the one upon whom the Word of punishment has proved true, ever be equal to those who are forgiven? So will you guide and save the one who deserves the fire? (Because the hearts of some disbelievers are sealed).
ھٰذَا ۭ وَاِنَّ لِلطّٰغِيْنَ لَـشَرَّ مَاٰبٍ55 
ان کو تو یہ ہے اور بیشک سرکشوں کا برا ٹھکانا
But for those who fear their Lord, are the high chambers with more high chambers built above them – rivers flowing beneath them; a promise of Allah; Allah does not renege on His promise.
جَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَصْلَوْنَهَا ۚ فَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ56 
جہنم کہ اس میں جائیں گے تو کیا ہی برا بچھونا
Did you not see that it is Allah Who sent down water from the sky, and then with it made springs in the earth, and then with it produces crops of various colours, and then it dries up and you see it has become yellow, and He then fragments them into smal
ھٰذَا ۙ فَلْيَذُوْقُوْهُ حَمِيْمٌ وَّغَسَّاقٌ57 
ان کو یہ ہے تو اسے چکھیں کھولتا پانی اور پیپ
So will he whose bosom Allah has opened up for Islam - he is therefore upon a light from his Lord - ever be equal to one who is stone hearted? Therefore ruin is for those whose hearts are hardened towards the remembrance of Allah; they are in open error.
وَّاٰخَرُ مِنْ شَكْلِهٖٓ اَزْوَاجٌ58 
اور اسی شکل کے اور جوڑے
Allah has sent down the best of Books (the Holy Qur’an), which is consistent throughout, the one with paired statements; the hairs on the skins of those who fear their Lord, stand on end with it; then their skins and their hearts soften, inclined towards
ھٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمْ ۚ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِهِمْ ۭ اِنَّهُمْ صَالُوا النَّارِ59 
ان سے کہا جائے گا یہ ایک اور فوج تمہارے ساتھ دھنسی پڑتی ہے جو تمہاری تھی وہ کہیں گے ان کو کھلی جگہ نہ ملیو آگ میں تو ان کو جانا ہی ہے
So will he who will not have a shield except his own face against the wretched punishment on the Day of Resurrection, ever be equal to one who is forgiven? And it will be said to the unjust, “Taste what you have earned!”
قَالُوْا بَلْ اَنْتُمْ ۣ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِكُمْ ۭ اَنْتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوْهُ لَنَا ۚ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ60 
وہاں بھی تنگ جگہ میں رہیں تابع بولے بلکہ تمہیں کھلی جگہ نہ ملیو، یہ مصیبت تم ہمارے آگے لائے تو کیا ہی برا ٹھکانا
Those before them had denied, therefore the punishment came to them from a place they did not know.
قَالُوْا رَبَّنَا مَنْ قَدَّمَ لَنَا ھٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِي النَّارِ61 
وہ بولے اے ہمارے رب جو یہ مصیبت ہمارے آگے لایا اسے آگ میں دُونا عذاب بڑھا
So Allah made them taste humiliation in the life of this world; and indeed the punishment of the Hereafter is the greatest; if only they knew!
وَقَالُوْا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرٰى رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُمْ مِّنَ الْاَشْرَارِ62 
اور بولے ہمیں کیا ہوا ہم ان مردوں کو نہیں دیکھتے جنہیں برا سمجھتے تھے
And We have indeed illustrated examples of all kinds in this Qur’an, so that they may ponder.
اَتَّخَذْنٰهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا اَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الْاَبْصَارُ63 
کیا ہم نے انہیں ہنسی بنالیا یا آنکھیں ان کی طرف سے پھر گئیں
The Qur’an in Arabic, having no deviation at all, so that they may be pious.
اِنَّ ذٰلِكَ لَحَــقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ اَهْلِ النَّارِ   ۧ64 
بیشک یہ ضرور حق ہے دوزخیوں کا باہم جھگڑ
Allah illustrates an example - “A man having several wicked masters as partners, and another man belonging wholly to just one master; are the two equal in comparison?” All praise is to Allah; in fact, most among them do not know.
قُلْ اِنَّمَآ اَنَا مُنْذِرٌ ڰ وَّمَا مِنْ اِلٰهٍ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ65 
تم فرماؤ میں ڈر سنانے والا ہی ہوں اور معبود کوئی نہیں مگر ایک اللہ سب پر غالب
Indeed you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) will taste death, and they (the disbelievers) too will die.
رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الْعَزِيْزُ الْغَفَّارُ66 
مالک آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے صاحب عزت بڑا بخشنے والا
Then you will dispute before your Lord on the Day of Resurrection.
قُلْ هُوَ نَبَؤٌا عَظِيْمٌ67 
تم فرماؤ وہ بڑی خبر ہے
So who is more unjust than one who fabricates a lie against Allah, and denies the truth when it comes to him? Is not the destination of disbelievers in hell?
اَنْتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُوْنَ68 
تم اس سے غفلت میں ہو
And those who brought this truth and those who testify for it – these are the pious.
مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنْ عِلْمٍۢ بِالْمَلَاِ الْاَعْلٰٓي اِذْ يَخْتَصِمُوْنَ69 
مجھے عالم بالا کی کیا خبر تھی جب وہ جھگڑتے تھے
For them is whatever they wish, before their Lord; this is the reward of the virtuous.
اِنْ يُّوْحٰٓى اِلَيَّ اِلَّآ اَنَّمَآ اَنَا نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ70 
مجھے تو یہی وحی ہوتی ہے کہ میں نہیں مگر روشن ڈر سنانے والا
So that Allah may relieve them of their worst deeds, and reward them for the best deeds they had done.
اِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةِ اِنِّىْ خَالِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّنْ طِيْنٍ71 
جب تمہارے رب نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا کہ میں مٹی سے انسان بناؤں گا
Is not Allah Sufficient for His slave? And they threaten you with others beside Him! And whomever Allah sends astray – there is no guide for him.
فَاِذَا سَوَّيْتُهٗ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيْهِ مِنْ رُّوْحِيْ فَقَعُوْا لَهٗ سٰجِدِيْنَ72 
پھر جب میں اسے ٹھیک بنالوں اور اس میں اپنی طرف کی روح پھونکوں تو تم اس کے لیے سجدے میں گرنا
And no one can mislead whomever Allah guides; is not Allah the Most Honourable, the Avenger?
فَسَجَدَ الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ اَجْمَعُوْنَ73 
تو سب فرشتو ں نے سجدہ کیا ایک ایک نے کہ کوئی باقی نہ رہا
And if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?”, they will surely say, “Allah”; say, “What is your opinion regarding those whom you worship other than Allah – if Allah wills to cause me some hardship, so will they avert the hardship sen
اِلَّآ اِبْلِيْسَ ۭ اِسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ74 
مگر ابلیس نے اس نے غرور کیا اور وہ تھا ہی کافروں میں
Proclaim, “O my people! Keep on with your works in your positions, I am doing mine; so you will soon come to know.” -
قَالَ يٰٓـاِبْلِيْسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ اَنْ تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ ۭ اَسْتَكْبَرْتَ اَمْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الْعَالِيْنَ75 
فرمایا اے ابلیس تجھے کس چیز نے روکا کہ تو اس کے لیے سجدہ کرے جسے میں نے اپنے ہاتھوں سے بنایا تجھے غرور آگیا یا تو تھا ہی مغروروں میں
“To whom will come a punishment that will disgrace, and upon whom descends the punishment that never ends.”
قَالَ اَنَا خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ ۭ خَلَقْتَنِيْ مِنْ نَّارٍ وَّخَلَقْتَهٗ مِنْ طِيْنٍ76 
بولا میں اس سے بہتر ہوں تو نے مجھے آگ سے بنایا اور اسے مٹی سے پیدا کیا
We have indeed sent down this Book to you with the truth, in order to guide mankind; so whoever attains guidance has attained it is for his own good, and whoever strays, has strayed for his own harm; and you are not at all responsible for them.
قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَاِنَّكَ رَجِيْمٌ77 
فرمایا تو جنت سے نکل جا کہ تو راندھا (لعنت کیا)گیا
It is Allah Who gives death * to living beings at the time of their demise, and to those who do not die, during their sleep; so He restrains the soul on which the decree of death has been passed, and leaves the other till the appointed term; indeed in th
وَّاِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِيْٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ78 
اور بیشک تجھ پر میری لعنت ہے قیامت تک
What! Have they chosen intercessors against Allah? Proclaim, “What! Even if they do not own anything nor have any intelligence?”
قَالَ رَبِّ فَاَنْظِرْنِيْٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُوْنَ79 
بولا اے میرے رب ایسا ہے تو مجھے مہلت دے اس دن تک کہ اٹھائے جائیں
Proclaim, “To Allah only * belongs all the intercession! For Him only is the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and then it is towards you have to return.” (*Allah does not intercede – He gives the permission to intercede with Him, to whomever He wil
قَالَ فَاِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِيْنَ80 
فرمایا تو تُو مہلت والوں میں ہے
And when Allah the One God is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter get constricted; and when others (false deities) besides Him are mentioned, they rejoice!
اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُوْمِ81 
اس جانے ہوئے وقت کے دن تک
Invoke (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “O Allah! The Creator of the heavens and the earth, the All Knowing of all the hidden and the open, You will judge between Your bondmen, regarding the matters in which they differed.”
قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَاُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ82 
بولا تیری عزت کی قسم ضرور میں ان سب کو گمراہ کردوں گا
And if the unjust owned all that is in the earth, and another one in addition to it, they would surely give it in exchange for freedom from the wretched punishment on the Day of Resurrection; and a matter which they had never imagined, appeared to them f
اِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِيْنَ83 
مگر جو ان میں تیرے چنے ہوئے بندے ہیں
And the evils they earned appeared to them, and the thing they used to mock at descended upon them.
قَالَ فَالْحَقُّ ۡ وَالْحَقَّ اَقُوْلُ84 
فرمایا تو سچ یہ ہے اور میں سچ ہی فرماتا ہوں
So when some hardship reaches man, he prays to Us; then later when We bestow a favour upon him, he says, “I obtained this only because of some knowledge”; in fact it is a test, but most of them do not have any knowledge.
لَاَمْلَــــَٔنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكَ وَمِمَّنْ تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ85 
بیشک میں ضرور جہنم بھردوں گا تجھ سے اور ان میں سے جتنے تیری پیروی کریں گے سب سے
Those before them also said the same, so their earnings did not benefit them at all.
قُلْ مَآ اَسْـَٔــلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ اَجْرٍ وَّمَآ اَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِيْنَ86 
تم فرماؤ میں اس قرآن پر تم سے کچھ اجر نہیں مانگتا اور میں بناوٹ والوں سے نہیں
Therefore the evils of their earnings befell them; and those who are unjust among them - soon the evils of the earnings will befall them, and they cannot escape.
اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعٰلَمِيْنَ87 
وہ تو نہیں مگر نصیحت سارے جہان کے لیے
Do they not know that Allah eases the sustenance for whomever He wills, and restricts it? Indeed in this are signs for the People who Believe.
وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَاَهٗ بَعْدَ حِيْنٍ   ۧ88 
اور ضرور ایک وقت کے بعد تم اس کی خبر جانو گے
Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “O my * slaves, who have wronged themselves, do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy; indeed Allah forgives all sins; indeed He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” (All Muslims ar
