سورة الصّافّات
اٰیاتہا 182
 Those Ranged in Ranks / As Saffat (Recite)

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان رحم والا
وَالصّــٰۗفّٰتِ صَفًّا1 
قسم ان کی کہ باقاعدہ صف باندھیں
He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?”
فَالزّٰجِرٰتِ زَجْرًا2 
پھر ان کی کہ جھڑک کر چلائیں
He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire.
فَالتّٰلِيٰتِ ذِكْرًا3 
پھر ان جماعتوں کی، کہ قرآن پڑھیں
He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!”
اِنَّ اِلٰهَكُمْ لَوَاحِدٌ4 
بیشک تمہارا معبود ضرور ایک ہے
“And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!”
رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ الْمَشَارِقِ5 
مالک آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے اور مالک مشرقوں کا
“So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.)
اِنَّا زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاۗءَ الدُّنْيَا بِزِيْنَةِۨ الْكَـوَاكِبِ6 
اور بیشک ہم نے نیچے کے آسمان کو تاروں کے سنگھار سے آراستہ کیا
“Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?”
وَحِفْظًا مِّنْ كُلِّ شَيْطٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ7 
اور نگاہ رکھنے کو ہر شیطان سرکش سے
“This is, most certainly, the supreme success.”
لَا يَسَّمَّعُوْنَ اِلَى الْمَلَاِ الْاَعْلٰي وَيُقْذَفُوْنَ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِبٍ8 
عالم بالا کی طرف کان نہیں لگاسکتے اور ان پر ہر طرف سے مار پھینک ہوتی ہے
For such a reward should the workers perform.
دُحُوْرًا وَّلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَّاصِبٌ9 
انہیں بھگانے کو اور ان کے لیے ہمیشہ کا عذاب
So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum?
اِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ الْخَــطْفَةَ فَاَتْــبَعَهٗ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ10 
مگر جو ایک آدھ بار اُچک لے چلا تو روشن انگار اس کے پیچھے لگا
We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust.
فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ اَهُمْ اَشَدُّ خَلْقًا اَمْ مَّنْ خَلَقْنَا ۭ اِنَّا خَلَقْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ طِيْنٍ لَّازِبٍ11 
تو ان سے پوچھو کیا ان کی پیدائش زیادہ مضبوط ہے یا ہماری اور مخلوق آسمانوں اور فرشتوں وغیرہ کی بیشک ہم نے ان کو چپکتی مٹی سے بنایا
Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell.
بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُوْنَ12 
بلکہ تمہیں اچنبھا آیا اور وہ ہنسی کرتے ہیں
Its fruit like the heads of demons.
وَاِذَا ذُكِّرُوْا لَا يَذْكُرُوْنَ13 
اور سمجھائے نہیں سمجھتے
So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it.
وَاِذَا رَاَوْا اٰيَةً يَّسْتَسْخِرُوْنَ14 
اور جب کوئی نشانی دیکھتے ہیں ٹھٹھا کرتے ہیں
Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water.
وَقَالُوْٓا اِنْ ھٰذَآ اِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ15 
اور کہتے ہیں یہ تو نہیں مگر کھلا جادو
Then surely their return is towards hell.
ءَاِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَّعِظَامًا ءَاِنَّا لَمَبْعُوْثُوْنَ16 
کیا جب ہم مر کر مٹی اور ہڈیاں ہوجائیں گے کیا ہم ضرور اٹھائے جائیں گے
They had indeed found their forefathers astray.
اَوَاٰبَاۗؤُنَا الْاَوَّلُوْنَ17 
اور کیا ہمارے اگلے باپ دادا بھی
So they hastily follow their footsteps!
قُلْ نَعَمْ وَاَنْتُمْ دَاخِرُوْنَ18 
تم فرماؤ ہاں یوں کہ ذلیل ہو کے
And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray.
فَاِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَّاحِدَةٌ فَاِذَا هُمْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ19 
تو وہ تو ایک ہی جھڑک ہے جبھی وہ دیکھنے لگیں گے
And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them.
وَقَالُوْا يٰوَيْلَنَا ھٰذَا يَوْمُ الدِّيْنِ20 
اور کہیں گے ہائے ہماری خرابی ان سے کہا جائے گا یہ انصاف کا دن ہے
Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned!
ھٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ الَّذِيْ كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوْنَ   ۧ21 
یہ ہے وہ فیصلے کا دن جسے تم جھٹلاتے تھے
Except the chosen bondmen of Allah.
اُحْشُرُوا الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا وَاَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوْا يَعْبُدُوْنَ22 
ہانکو ظالموں اور ان کے جوڑوں کو اور جو کچھ وہ پوجتے تھے
And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are!
مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ فَاهْدُوْهُمْ اِلٰى صِرَاطِ الْجَحِيْمِ23 
اللہ کے سوا، ان سب کو ہانکو راہِ دوزخ کی طرف
And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity.
وَقِفُوْهُمْ اِنَّهُمْ مَّسْـُٔـوْلُوْنَ24 
اور انہیں ٹھہراؤ ان سے پوچھنا ہے
And We preserved his descendants.
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُوْنَ25 
تمہیں کیا ہوا ایک دوسرے کی مدد کیوں نہیں کرتے
And We kept his praise among the latter generations.
بَلْ هُمُ الْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُوْنَ26 
بلکہ وہ آج گردن ڈالے ہیں
Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people.
وَاَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰي بَعْضٍ يَّتَسَاۗءَلُوْنَ27 
اور ان میں ایک نے دوسرے کی طرف منہ کیا آپس میں پوچھتے ہوئے
This is how We reward the virtuous.
قَالُوْٓا اِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَاْتُوْنَنَا عَنِ الْيَمِيْنِ28 
بولے تم ہمارے دہنی طرف سے بہکانے آتے تھے
He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen.
قَالُوْا بَلْ لَّمْ تَكُوْنُوْا مُؤْمِنِيْنَ29 
جواب دیں گے تم خود ہی ایمان نہ رکھتے تھے
We then drowned the others.
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُمْ مِّنْ سُلْطٰنٍ ۚ بَلْ كُنْتُمْ قَوْمًا طٰغِيْنَ30 
اور ہمارا تم پر کچھ قابو نہ تھا بلکہ تم سرکش لوگ تھے
And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group.
فَحَــقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ڰ اِنَّا لَذَاۗىِٕقُوْنَ31 
تو ثابت ہوگئی ہم پر ہمارے رب کی بات ہمیں ضرور چکھنا ہے
When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood).
فَاَغْوَيْنٰكُمْ اِنَّا كُنَّا غٰوِيْنَ32 
تو ہم نے تمہیں گمراہ کیا کہ ہم خود گمراہ تھے
When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?”
فَاِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُوْنَ33 
تو اس دن وہ سب کے سب عذاب میں شریک ہیں
“What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?”
اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِيْنَ34 
مجرموں کے ساتھ ہم ایسا ہی کرتے ہیں
“So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?)
اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْٓا اِذَا قِيْلَ لَهُمْ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ ۙ يَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ35 
بیشک جب ان سے کہا جاتا تھا کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں تو اونچی کھینچتے (تکبر کرتے)تھے
He then shot a glance at the stars.
وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ اَىِٕنَّا لَتَارِكُوْٓا اٰلِـهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْــنُوْنٍ36 
اور کہتے تھے کیا ہم اپنے خداؤں کو چھوڑدیں ایک دیوانہ شاعر کے کہنے سے
He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!”
بَلْ جَاۗءَ بِالْحَــقِّ وَصَدَّقَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ37 
بلکہ وہ تو حق لائے ہیں اور انہوں نے رسولوں کی تصدیق فرمائی
And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease).
اِنَّكُمْ لَذَاۗىِٕقُوا الْعَذَابِ الْاَلِــيْمِ38 
بیشک تمہیں ضرور دکھ کی مار چکھنی ہے
He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?”
وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ اِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ39 
تو تمہیں بدلہ نہ ملے گا مگر اپنے کیے کا
“What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?”
اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الْمُخْلَصِيْنَ40 
مگر جو اللہ کے چُنے ہوئے بندے ہیں
He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people.
اُولٰۗىِٕكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُوْمٌ41 
ان کے لیے وہ روزی ہے جو ہمارے علم میں ہیں
So the disbelievers came running towards him.
فَوَاكِهُ ۚ وَهُمْ مُّكْـرَمُوْنَ42 
میوے اور ان کی عزت ہوگی
He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?”
فِيْ جَنّٰتِ النَّعِيْمِ43 
چین کے باغوں میں
“Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?”
عَلٰي سُرُرٍ مُّتَـقٰبِلِيْنَ44 
تختوں پر ہوں گے آمنے سامنے
They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!”
يُـطَافُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِكَاْسٍ مِّنْ مَّعِيْنٍۢ45 
ان پر دورہ ہوگا نگاہ کے سامنے بہتی شراب کے جام کا
So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool).
بَيْضَاۗءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشّٰرِبِيْنَ46 
سفید رنگ پینے والوں کے لیے لذت
And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.”
لَا فِيْهَا غَوْلٌ وَّلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنْزَفُوْنَ47 
نہ اس میں خمار ہے اور نہ اس سے ان کا سَر پِھرے
“My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.”
وَعِنْدَهُمْ قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرْفِ عِيْنٌ48 
اور ان کے پاس ہیں جو شوہروں کے سوا دوسری طرف آنکھ اٹھا کر نہ دیکھیں گی
We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son.
كَاَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُوْنٌ49 
بڑی آنکھوں والیاں گویا وہ انڈے ہیں پوشیدہ رکھے ہوئے
And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you - therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently e
فَاَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰي بَعْضٍ يَّتَسَاۗءَلُوْنَ50 
تو ان میں ایک نے دوسرے کی طرف منہ کیا پوچھتے ہوئے
Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail)
قَالَ قَاۗىِٕلٌ مِّنْهُمْ اِنِّىْ كَانَ لِيْ قَرِيْنٌ51 
ان میں سے کہنے والا بولا میرا ایک ہمنشین تھا
And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!”
يَّقُوْلُ اَىِٕنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُصَدِّقِيْنَ52 
مجھ سے کہا کرتا کیا تم اسے سچ مانتے ہو
“You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous.
ءَاِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَّعِظَامًا ءَاِنَّا لَمَدِيْنُوْنَ53 
کیا جب ہم مر کر مٹی اور ہڈیاں ہوجائیں گے تو کیا ہمیں جزا سزا دی جائے گی
Indeed this was a clear test.
قَالَ هَلْ اَنْتُمْ مُّطَّلِعُوْنَ54 
کہا کیا تم جھانک کر دیکھو گے
And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail – peace be upon them – is commemorated every year on 10,11 and 12 Zil Haj).
فَاطَّلَعَ فَرَاٰهُ فِيْ سَوَاۗءِ الْجَحِيْمِ55 
پھر جھانکا تو اسے بیچ بھڑکتی آگ میں دیکھا
And We kept his praise among the latter generations.
قَالَ تَاللّٰهِ اِنْ كِدْتَّ لَتُرْدِيْنِ56 
کہا خدا کی قسم قریب تھا کہ تو مجھے ہلاک کردے
Peace be upon Ibrahim!
وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّيْ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِيْنَ57 
اور میرا رب فضل نہ کرے تو ضرور میں بھی پکڑ کر حاضر کیا جاتا
This is how We reward the virtuous.
اَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِيْنَ58 
تو کیا ہمیں مرنا نہیں
He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen.
اِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا الْاُوْلٰى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِيْنَ59 
مگر ہماری پہلی موت اور ہم پر عذاب نہ ہوگا
And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity.
اِنَّ ھٰذَا لَهُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيْمُ60 
بیشک یہی بڑی کامیابی ہے
And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants - some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves.
لِــمِثْلِ ھٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ الْعٰمِلُوْنَ61 
ایسی ہی بات کے لیے کامیوں کو کام کرنا چاہیے
And We indeed did a great favour to Moosa and Haroon.
اَذٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا اَمْ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّوْمِ62 
تو یہ مہمانی بھلی یا تھوہڑ کا پیڑ
And rescued them and their people from the great calamity.
اِنَّا جَعَلْنٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظّٰلِمِيْنَ63 
بیشک ہم نے اسے ظالموں کی جانچ کیا ہے
And We helped them, so they were victorious.
اِنَّهَا شَجَــرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِيْٓ اَصْلِ الْجَحِيْمِ64 
بیشک وہ ایک پیڑ ہے کہ جہنم کی جڑ میں نکلتا ہے
And We bestowed the clear Book to both of them.
طَلْعُهَا كَاَنَّهٗ رُءُوْسُ الشَّيٰطِيْنِ65 
اس کا شگوفہ جیسے دیووں کے سر
And guided them to the Straight Path.
فَاِنَّهُمْ لَاٰكِلُوْنَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـــــُٔوْنَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُوْنَ66 
پھر بیشک وہ اس میں سے کھائیں گے پھر اس سے پیٹ بھریں گے
And We kept their praise among the latter generations.
ثُمَّ اِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيْمٍ67 
پھر بیشک ان کے لیے اس پر کھولتے پانی کی ملونی (ملاوٹ)ہے
Peace be upon Moosa and Haroon!
ثُمَّ اِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَا۟اِلَى الْجَحِيْمِ68 
پھر ان کی بازگشت ضرور بھڑکتی آگ کی طرف ہے
This is how We reward the virtuous.
اِنَّهُمْ اَلْفَوْا اٰبَاۗءَهُمْ ضَاۗلِّيْنَ69 
بیشک انہوں نے اپنے باپ دادا گمراہ پائے
Indeed they are two of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen.
فَهُمْ عَلٰٓي اٰثٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُوْنَ70 
تو وہ انہیں کے نشان قدم پر دوڑے جاتے ہیں
And indeed Ilyas is one of the Noble Messengers.
وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ اَكْثَرُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ71 
اور بیشک ان سے پہلے بہت سے اگلے گمراہ ہوئے
When he said to his people, “Do you not fear?”
وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا فِيْهِمْ مُّنْذِرِيْنَ72 
اور بیشک ہم نے ان میں ڈر سنانے والے بھیجے
“What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” -
فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُنْذَرِيْنَ73 
تو دیکھو ڈرائے گیوں کا کیسا انجام ہوا
“Allah, Who is, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?”
اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الْمُخْلَصِيْنَ   ۧ74 
مگر اللہ کے چُنے ہوئے بندے
In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives.
وَلَقَدْ نَادٰىنَا نُوْحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ الْمُجِيْبُوْنَ75 
اور بیشک ہمیں نوح نے پکارا تو ہم کیا ہی اچھے قبول فرمانے والے
Except the chosen bondmen of Allah.
وَنَجَّيْنٰهُ وَاَهْلَهٗ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيْمِ76 
اور ہم نے اسے اور اس کے گھر والوں کو بڑی تکلیف سے نجات دی
And We kept his praise among the latter generations.
وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهٗ هُمُ الْبٰقِيْنَ77 
اور ہم نے اسی کی اولاد باقی رکھی
Peace be upon Ilyas!
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْاٰخِرِيْنَ78 
اور ہم نے پچھلوں میں اس کی تعریف باقی رکھی
This is how We reward the virtuous.
سَلٰمٌ عَلٰي نُوْحٍ فِي الْعٰلَمِيْنَ79 
نوح پر سلام ہو جہاں والوں میں
He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen.
اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ80 
بیشک ہم ایسا ہی صلہ دیتے ہیں نیکوں کو
And indeed Lut is one of the Noble Messengers.
اِنَّهٗ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ81 
بیشک وہ ہمارے اعلیٰ درجہ کے کامل الایمان بندوں میں ہے
When We rescued him and his entire household.
ثُمَّ اَغْرَقْنَا الْاٰخَرِيْنَ82 
پھر ہم نے دوسروں کو ڈبو دیا
Except an old woman, who became of those who stayed behind.
وَاِنَّ مِنْ شِيْعَتِهٖ لَاِبْرٰهِيْمَ83 
اور بیشک اسی کے گروہ سے ابراہیم ہے
We then destroyed the others.
اِذْ جَاۗءَ رَبَّهٗ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِـيْمٍ84 
جبکہ اپنے رب کے پاس حاضر ہوا غیر سے سلامت دل لے کر
And indeed you pass over them in the morning. -
اِذْ قَالَ لِاَبِيْهِ وَقَوْمِهٖ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُوْنَ85 
جب اس نے اپنے باپ اور اپنی قوم سے فرمایا تم کیا پوجتے ہو
And during the night; so do you not have sense?
اَىِٕفْكًا اٰلِــهَةً دُوْنَ اللّٰهِ تُرِيْدُوْنَ86 
کیا بہتان سے اللہ کے سوا اور خدا چاہتے ہو
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers.
فَمَا ظَنُّكُمْ بِرَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ87 
تو تمہارا کیا گمان سے رب العالمین پر
When he left towards the laden ship.
فَنَظَرَ نَــظْرَةً فِي النُّجُوْمِ88 
پھر اس نے ایک نگاہ ستاروں کو دیکھا
Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea.
فَقَالَ اِنِّىْ سَقِيْمٌ89 
پھر کہا میں بیمار ہونے والا ہوں
The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.)
فَتَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِيْنَ90 
تو وہ اس پر پیٹھ دے کر پھر گئے
And were he not one of those who praise. -
فَرَاغَ اِلٰٓى اٰلِـهَــتِهِمْ فَقَالَ اَلَا تَاْكُلُوْنَ91 
پھر ان کے خداؤں کی طرف چھپ کر چلا تو کہا کیا تم نہیں کھاتے
He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised.
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنْطِقُوْنَ92 
تمہیں کیا ہوا کہ نہیں بولتے
We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick.
فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢـا بِالْيَمِيْنِ93 
تو لوگوں کی نظر بچا کر انہیں دہنے ہاتھ سے مارنے لگا
And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him.
فَاَقْبَلُوْٓا اِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّوْنَ94 
تو کافر اس کی طرف جلدی کرتے آئے
And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more.
قَالَ اَ تَعْبُدُوْنَ مَا تَنْحِتُوْنَ95 
فرمایا کیا اپنے ہاتھ کے تراشوں کو پوجتے ہو
So they accepted faith - We therefore gave them usage for a while.
وَاللّٰهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ96 
اور اللہ نے تمہیں پیدا کیا اور تمہارے اعمال کو
Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them!
قَالُوا ابْنُوْا لَهٗ بُنْيَانًا فَاَلْقُوْهُ فِي الْجَــحِيْمِ97 
بولے اس کے لیے ایک عمارت چنو پھر اسے بھڑکتی آگ میں ڈال دو
Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present?
فَاَرَادُوْا بِهٖ كَيْدًا فَجَـعَلْنٰهُمُ الْاَسْفَلِيْنَ98 
تو انہوں نے اس پر داؤں چلنا (فریب کرنا)چاہا ہم نے انہیں نیچا دکھایا
Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. –
وَقَالَ اِنِّىْ ذَاهِبٌ اِلٰى رَبِّيْ سَيَهْدِيْنِ99 
اور کہا میں اپنے رب کی طرف جانے والا ہوں اب وہ مجھے راہ دے گا
That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars.
رَبِّ هَبْ لِيْ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ100 
الٰہی مجھے لائق اولاد دے
“Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?”
فَبَشَّرْنٰهُ بِغُلٰمٍ حَلِـيْمٍ101 
تو ہم نے اسے خوشخبری سنائی ایک عقل مند لڑکے کی
“What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!”
فَلَمَّا بَلَــغَ مَعَهُ السَّعْيَ قَالَ يٰبُنَيَّ اِنِّىْٓ اَرٰى فِي الْمَنَامِ اَنِّىْٓ اَذْبَحُكَ فَانْظُرْ مَاذَا تَرٰى ۭ قَالَ يٰٓاَبَتِ افْعَلْ مَا تُــؤْمَرُ ۡ سَتَجِدُنِيْٓ اِنْ شَاۗءَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ الصّٰبِرِيْنَ102 
پھر جب وہ اس کے ساتھ کام کے قابل ہوگیا کہا اے میرے بیٹے میں نے خواب دیکھا میں تجھے ذبح کرتا ہوں اب تو دیکھ تیری کیا رائے ہے کہا اے میرے باپ کی جیئے جس بات کا آپ کو حکم ہوتا ہے، خدا نے چاہتا تو قریب ہے کہ آپ مجھے صابر پائیں گے
“So do you not ponder?”
فَلَمَّآ اَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهٗ لِلْجَبِيْنِ ١103 
تو جب ان دونوں نے ہمارے حکم پر گردن رکھی اور باپ نے بیٹے کو ماتھے کے بل لٹایا اس وقت کا حال نہ پوچھ
“Or do you have some clear proof?”
وَنَادَيْنٰهُ اَنْ يّـٰٓاِبْرٰهِيْمُ ١104 
اور ہم نے اسے ندائی فرمائی کہ اے ابراہیم
“Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!”
قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ الرُّءْيَا ۚ اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ105 
بیشک تو نے خواب سچ کردکھایا ہم ایسا ہی صلہ دیتے ہیں نیکوں کو
And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth.
اِنَّ ھٰذَا لَهُوَ الْبَلٰۗــــؤُا الْمُبِيْنُ106 
بیشک یہ روشن جانچ تھی
Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate.
وَفَدَيْنٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيْمٍ107 
اور ہم نے ایک بڑا ذبیحہ اس کے فدیہ میں دے کر اسے بچالیا
Except the chosen bondmen of Allah.
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْاٰخِرِيْنَ ١108 
اور ہم نے پچھلوں میں اس کی تعریف باقی رکھی
Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.)
سَلٰمٌ عَلٰٓي اِبْرٰهِيْمَ109 
سلام ہو ابراہیم پر
You cannot make anyone rebel against Him.
كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ110 
ہم ایسا ہی صلہ دیتے ہیں نیکوں کو
Except the one who will go into the blazing fire.
اِنَّهٗ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ111 
بیشک وہ ہمارے اعلیٰ درجہ کے کامل الایمان بندوں میں ہیں
And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.”
وَبَشَّرْنٰهُ بِاِسْحٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ112 
اور ہم نے اسے خوشخبری دی اسحاق کی کہ غیب کی خبریں بتانے والا نبی ہمارے قربِ خاص کے سزاواروں میں
“And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.”
وَبٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلٰٓي اِسْحٰقَ ۭ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّـتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَّظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهٖ مُبِيْنٌ ١   ۧ113 
اور ہم نے برکت اتاری اس پر اور اسحاق پر اور ان کی اولاد میں کوئی اچھا کام کرنے والا اور کوئی اپنی جان پر صریح ظلم کرنے والا
“And indeed we are those who say His purity.”
وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلٰي مُوْسٰى وَهٰرُوْنَ ١١٤114 
اور بیشک ہم نے موسیٰ اور ہارون پر احسان فرمایا
And indeed the disbelievers used to say, -
وَنَجَّيْنٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيْمِ ١115 
اور انہیں اور ان کی قوم کو بڑی سختی سے نجات بخشی
“If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” -
وَنَصَرْنٰهُمْ فَكَانُوْا هُمُ الْغٰلِبِيْنَ ١116 
اور ان کی ہم نے مدد فرمائی تو وہی غالب ہوئے
“We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.”
وَاٰتَيْنٰهُمَا الْكِتٰبَ الْمُسْتَبِيْنَ ١١117 
اور ہم نے ان دونوں کو روشن کتاب عطا فرمائی
They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know.
وَهَدَيْنٰهُمَا الـصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَــقِيْمَ ١118 
اور ان کو سیدھی راہ دکھائی
And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent.
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِي الْاٰخِرِيْنَ ١119 
اور پچھلوں میں ان کی تعریف باقی رکھی
That undoubtedly, only they will be helped.
سَلٰمٌ عَلٰي مُوْسٰى وَهٰرُوْنَ120 
سلام ہو موسیٰ اور ہارون پر
And surely, only Our army will be victorious.
اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ121 
بیشک ہم ایسا ہی صلہ دیتے ہیں نیکوں کو
Therefore turn away from them for some time.
اِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ122 
بیشک وہ دونوں ہمارے اعلیٰ درجہ کے کامل الایمان بندوں میں ہیں
And watch them, for they will soon see.
وَاِنَّ اِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١123 
اور بیشک الیاس پیغمبروں سے ہے
So are they being impatient for Our punishment?
اِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهٖٓ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ124 
جب اس نے اپنی قوم سے فرمایا کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں
So when it does descend in their courtyards – so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned!
اَتَدْعُوْنَ بَعْلًا وَّتَذَرُوْنَ اَحْسَنَ الْخَالِقِيْنَ ١125 
کیا بعل کو پوجتے ہو اور چھوڑتے ہو سب سے اچھا پیدا کرنے والے اللہ کو
And turn away from them for some time.
اللّٰهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ اٰبَاۗىِٕكُمُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ126 
جو رب ہے تمہارا اور تمہارے اگلے باپ دادا کا
And wait, for they will soon see.
فَكَذَّبُوْهُ فَاِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُوْنَ ١127 
پھر انہو ں نے اسے جھٹلایا تو وہ ضرور پکڑے آئیں گے
Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say.
اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الْمُخْلَصِيْنَ128 
مگر اللہکے چُنے ہوئے بندے
And peace is upon the Noble Messengers.
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْاٰخِرِيْنَ ١129 
اور ہم نے پچھلوں میں اس کی ثنا باقی رکھی
And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.
سَلٰمٌ عَلٰٓي اِلْ يَاسِيْنَ130 
سلام ہو الیاس پر
Saad* - By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.)
اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ131 
بیشک ہم ایسا ہی صلہ دیتے ہیں نیکوں کو
In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition.
اِنَّهٗ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ132 
بیشک وہ ہمارے اعلیٰ درجہ کے کامل الایمان بندوں میں ہے
Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape!
وَاِنَّ لُوْطًا لَّمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١133 
اور بیشک لوط پیغمبروں میں ہے
And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!”
اِذْ نَجَّيْنٰهُ وَاَهْلَهٗٓ اَجْمَعِيْنَ ١134 
جبکہ ہم نے اسے اور اس کے سب گھر والوں کو نجات بخشی
“Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!”
اِلَّا عَجُوْزًا فِي الْغٰبِرِيْنَ135 
مگر ایک بڑھیا کہ رہ جانے والوں میں ہوئی
And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!”
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْاٰخَرِيْنَ136 
پھر دوسروں کو ہم نے ہلاک فرمادیا
“We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.”
وَاِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّوْنَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُّصْبِحِيْنَ ١137 
او ربیشک تم ان پر گزرتے ہو صبح کو
“Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment.
وَبِالَّيْلِ ۭ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ ١   ۧ138 
اور رات میں تو کیا تمہیں عقل نہیں
Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower?
وَاِنَّ يُوْنُسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١139 
اور بیشک یونس پیغمبروں سے ہے
Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes?
اِذْ اَبَقَ اِلَى الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُوْنِ ١140 
جبکہ بھری کشتی کی طرف نکل گیا
This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then.
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُدْحَضِيْنَ ١141 
تو قرعہ ڈالا تو ڈھکیلے ہوؤں میں ہوا
Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify.
فَالْتَقَمَهُ الْحُوْتُ وَهُوَ مُلِـيْمٌ142 
پھر اسے مچھلی نے نگل لیا اور وہ اپنے آپ کو ملامت کرتا تھا
And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups.
فَلَوْلَآ اَنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِيْنَ ١143 
تو اگر وہ تسبیح کرنے والا نہ ہوتا
None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable.
لَـلَبِثَ فِيْ بَطْنِهٖٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُوْنَ ١144 
ضرور اس کے پیٹ میں رہتا جس دن تک لوگ اٹھائے جائیں گے
They await just one Scream, which no one can avert.
فَنَبَذْنٰهُ بِالْعَرَاۗءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيْمٌ ١145 
پھر ہم نے اسے میدان میں ڈال دیا اور وہ بیمار تھا
And they said, “Our Lord! Give us our share quickly, before the Day of Reckoning.”
وَاَنْۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّنْ يَّقْطِيْنٍ ١146 
اور ہم نے اس پر کدو کا پیڑ اگایا
Have patience upon what they say, and remember Our bondman Dawud, the one blessed with favours; he is indeed most inclined (towards His Lord).
وَاَرْسَلْنٰهُ اِلٰى مِائَةِ اَلْفٍ اَوْ يَزِيْدُوْنَ ١147 
اور ہم نے اسے لاکھ آدمیوں کی طرف بھیجا بلکہ زیادہ
Indeed We subjected the hills to say the praise with him, at night and at morn.
فَاٰمَنُوْا فَمَتَّعْنٰهُمْ اِلٰى حِيْنٍ ١148 
تو وہ ایمان لے آئے تو ہم نے انہیں ایک وقت تک برتنے دیا
And birds gathered together; they were all obedient to him.
فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ اَلِرَبِّكَ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ الْبَنُوْنَ ١149 
تو ان سے پوچھو کیا تمہارے رب کے لیے بیٹیاں ہیں اور ان کے بیٹے
And We strengthened his kingdom and gave him wisdom and just speech.
اَمْ خَلَقْنَا الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةَ اِنَاثًا وَّهُمْ شٰهِدُوْنَ150 
یا ہم نے ملائکہ کو عورتیں پیدا کیا اور وہ حاضر تھے
And did the news of the two disputants reach you? When they scaled over the wall into Dawud’s mosque.
اَلَآ اِنَّهُمْ مِّنْ اِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُوْلُوْنَ ١151 
سنتے ہو بیشک وہ اپنے بہتان سے کہتے ہیں
When they entered upon David, so he feared them - they said, “Do not fear! We are two disputants, one of whom has wronged the other, therefore judge fairly between us and do not judge unjustly - and show us the right way.”
وَلَدَ اللّٰهُ ۙ وَاِنَّهُمْ لَكٰذِبُوْنَ152 
کہ اللہ کی اولاد ہے اور بیشک وہ ضرور جھوٹے ہیں
“This is my brother; he has ninety nine ewes and I have one ewe; and he now says ‘Give that one also to me’ - and he is very demanding in speech.”
اَصْطَفَى الْبَنَاتِ عَلَي الْبَنِيْنَ ١153 
کیا اس نے بیٹیاں پسند کیں بیٹے چھوڑ کر
Said Dawud, “He is indeed being unjust to you in that he demands to add your ewe to his ewes; and indeed most partners wrong one another, except those who believe and do good deeds - and they are very few!” Thereupon Dawud realised that We had tested him
مَا لَكُمْ ۣ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُوْنَ154 
تمہیں کیا ہے، کیسا حکم لگاتے ہو
We therefore forgave him this; and indeed for him in Our presence are, surely, proximity and an excellent abode.
اَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُوْنَ ١155 
تو کیا دھیان نہیں کرتے
“O Dawud! We have indeed appointed you as a Viceroy in the earth, therefore judge between mankind with the truth, and do not follow desire for it will lead you astray from Allah’s path; indeed for those who stray away from Allah’s path is a severe punish
اَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطٰنٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ١156 
یا تمہارے لیے کوئی کھلی سند ہے
And We have not created the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose; this is what the disbelievers assume; therefore ruin is for the disbelievers, by the fire.
فَاْتُوْا بِكِتٰبِكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ157 
تو اپنی کتاب لاؤ اگر تم سچے ہو
Shall We make those who believe and do good deeds equal to those who spread turmoil in the earth? Or shall We equate the pious with the disobedient?
وَجَعَلُوْا بَيْنَهٗ وَبَيْنَ الْجِنَّةِ نَسَـبًا ۭ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ الْجِنَّةُ اِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُوْنَ ١158 
اور اس میں اور جنوں میں رشتہ ٹھہرایا اور بیشک جنوں کو معلوم ہے کہ وہ ضرور حاضر لائے جائیں گے
This is a Book which We have sent down upon you, a blessed Book, for them to ponder upon its verses, and for men of intellect to accept advice.
سُبْحٰنَ اللّٰهِ عَمَّايَصِفُوْنَ ١159 
پاکی ہے اللہ کو ان باتوں سے کہ یہ بتاتے ہیں
And We bestowed Sulaiman to Dawud; what an excellent bondman! He is indeed most inclined.
اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الْمُخْلَصِيْنَ160 
مگر اللہ کے چُنے ہوئے بندے
When fast footed steeds were presented to him at evening.
فَاِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُوْنَ ١161 
تو تم اور جو کچھ تم اللہ کے سوا پوجتے ہو
Therefore Sulaiman said, “I cherish the love of these horses *, out of remembrance of my Lord”; he then ordered them to be raced until they vanished in a curtain out of sight. (To be used in holy war.)
مَآ اَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفٰتِـنِيْنَ ١162 
تم اس کے خلاف کسی کو بہکانے والے نہیں
He then ordered, “Bring them back to me”; and he began caressing their shins and necks.
اِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ الْجَحِيْمِ163 
مگر اسے جو بھڑکتی آگ میں جانے والا ہے
And We indeed tested Sulaiman, and placed a dead body on his throne – he therefore inclined towards His Lord.
وَمَا مِنَّآ اِلَّا لَهٗ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُوْمٌ ١164 
اور فرشتے کہتے ہیں ہم میں ہر ایک کا ایک مقام معلوم ہے
He said, “My Lord! Forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom, which shall not befit anyone after me; indeed only You are the Great Bestower.”
وَّاِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الصَّاۗفُّوْنَ ١165 
اور بیشک ہم پر پھیلائے حکم کے منتظر ہیں
We therefore gave the wind under his control, moving steadily by his command wherever he wished.
وَاِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الْمُسَبِّحُوْنَ166 
اور بیشک ہم اس کی تسبیح کرنے والے ہیں
And made the demons subservient to him, all builders and divers.
وَاِنْ كَانُوْا لَيَقُوْلُوْنَ ١167 
اور بیشک وہ کہتے تھے
And other demons bound in chains.
لَوْ اَنَّ عِنْدَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ١168 
اگر ہمارے پاس اگلوں کی کوئی نصیحت ہوتی
“This is Our bestowal - you may therefore bestow favours or withhold them – you will not be questioned.”
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الْمُخْلَصِيْنَ169 
تو ضرور ہم اللہ کے چُنے ہوئے بندے ہوتے
And indeed for him in Our presence are, surely, proximity and an excellent abode.
فَكَفَرُوْا بِهٖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُوْنَ170 
تو اس کے منکر ہوئے تو عنقریب جان لیں گے
And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out * to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.)
وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١171 
اور بیشک ہمارا کلام گزر چکا ہے ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے بندوں کے لیے
We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring of gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.)
اِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ الْمَنْصُوْرُوْنَ ١172 
کہ بیشک انہیں کی مدد ہوگی
And We bestowed his household to him and one more similar to it – as a mercy from Us, and as a remembrance for the people of intellect.
وَاِنَّ جُنْدَنَا لَهُمُ الْغٰلِبُوْنَ173 
اور بیشک ہمارا ہی لشکر غالب آئے گا
And We said, “Take a broom in your hand and strike her with it, and do not break your vow”; We indeed found him patiently enduring; what an excellent bondman! He is indeed most inclined.
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتّٰى حِيْنٍ ١174 
تو ایک وقت تم ان سے منہ پھیر لو
And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge.
وَّاَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُوْنَ175 
اور انہیں دیکھتے رہو کہ عنقریب وہ دیکھیں گے
We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode.
اَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْــجِلُوْنَ176 
تو کیا ہمارے عذاب کی جلدی کرتے ہیں
And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved.
فَاِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَاۗءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِيْنَ177 
پھر جب اترے گا ان کے آنگن میں تو ڈرائے گیوں کی کیا ہی بری صبح ہوگی
And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent.
وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتّٰى حِيْنٍ ١178 
اور ایک وقت تک ان سے منہ پھیرلو
This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode.
وَّاَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُوْنَ179 
اور انتظار کرو کہ وہ عنقریب دیکھیں گے
Everlasting Gardens - all its gates are open for them.
سُبْحٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُوْنَ ١180 
پاکی ہے تمہارے رب کو عزت والے رب کو ان کی باتوں سے
Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty.
وَسَلٰمٌ عَلَي الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١181 
اور سلام ہے پیغمبروں پر
And with them are the pure spouses, who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, of single age.
وَالْحَـمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١   ۧ182 
اور سب خوبیاں اللہ کو سارے جہاں کا رب ہے
