سورة الشعراء
اٰیاتہا 227
 The Poets / Ash Shu'ara" (Recite)

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان رحم والا
طٰسۗمّۗ1 
طٰسم
They announced “These people are a small group.”
تِلْكَ اٰيٰتُ الْكِتٰبِ الْمُبِيْنِ2 
یہ آیتیں ہیں روشن کتا ب کی
“And indeed they have angered all of us.”
لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ اَلَّا يَكُوْنُوْا مُؤْمِنِيْنَ3 
کہیں تم اپنی جان پر کھیل جاؤ گے ان کے غم میں کہ وہ ایمان نہیں لائے
“And indeed we are an alert army.”
اِنْ نَّشَاْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّنَ السَّمَاۗءِ اٰيَةً فَظَلَّتْ اَعْنَاقُهُمْ لَهَا خٰضِعِيْنَ4 
اگر ہم چاہیں تو آسمان سے ان پر کوئی نشانی اتاریں کہ ان کے اونچے اونچے اس کے حضور جھکے رہ جائیں
We therefore got them out from the gardens and water springs.
وَمَا يَاْتِيْهِمْ مِّنْ ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ الرَّحْمٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ اِلَّا كَانُوْا عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِيْنَ5 
اور نہیں آتی ان کے پاس رحمٰان کی طرف سے کوئی نئی نصیحت مگر اس سے منہ پھیر لیتے ہیں
And from treasures and nice houses.
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوْا فَسَيَاْتِيْهِمْ اَنْۢبٰۗـؤُا مَا كَانُوْا بِهٖ يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ6 
تو بیشک انہوں نے جھٹلایا تو اب ان پر آیا چاہتی ہیں خبریں ان کے ٹھٹھے کی
So it was; and We made the Descendants of Israel its inheritors.
اَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا اِلَى الْاَرْضِ كَمْ اَنْۢبَـتْنَا فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيْمٍ7 
کیا انہوں نے زمین کو نہ دیکھا ہم نے اس میں کتنے عزت والے جوڑے اگائے
So the Firaun’s people followed them at sunrise.
اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً ۭ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ8 
بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانی ہے اور ان کے اکثر ایمان لانے والے نہیں
And when the two groups saw each other, those with Moosa said, “They have caught us.”
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ   ۧ9 
اور بیشک تمہارا رب ضرور وہی عزت والا مہربان ہے
Said Moosa, “Never! Indeed my Lord is with me, He will now show me the way.”
وَاِذْ نَادٰي رَبُّكَ مُوْسٰٓي اَنِ ائْتِ الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ10 
اور یاد کرو جب تمہارے رب نے موسیٰ کو ندا فرمائی کہ ظالم لوگوں کے پاس جا
So We sent the divine revelation to Moosa that, “Strike the sea with your staff”; thereupon the sea parted; so each part was like a huge mountain.
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۭ اَلَا يَتَّقُوْنَ11 
جو فرعون کی قوم ہے کیا وہ نہ ڈریں گے
And We brought the others close to that place.
قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّىْٓ اَخَافُ اَنْ يُّكَذِّبُوْنِ12 
عرض کی کہ اے میرے رب میں ڈرتا ہوں کہ مجھے جھٹلا ئیں گے
And We saved Moosa and all those with him.
وَيَضِيْقُ صَدْرِيْ وَلَا يَنْطَلِقُ لِسَانِيْ فَاَرْسِلْ اِلٰى هٰرُوْنَ13 
اور میرا سینہ تنگی کرتا ہے اور میری زبان نہیں چلتی تو توُ ہا رون کو بھی رسول کر
Then drowned the others.
وَلَهُمْ عَلَيَّ ذَنْۢبٌ فَاَخَافُ اَنْ يَّقْتُلُوْنِ14 
اور ان کا مجھ پر ایک الزام ہے تو میں ڈرتا ہو ں کہیں مجھے کر دیں
Indeed in this is surely a sign, and most of them were not Muslims.
قَالَ كَلَّا ۚ فَاذْهَبَا بِاٰيٰتِنَآ اِنَّا مَعَكُمْ مُّسْتَمِعُوْنَ15 
فرما یا یوں نہیں تم دو نوں میری آئتیں لے کر جا ؤ ہم تمھا رے ساتھ سنتے ہیں
And indeed your Lord - only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
فَاْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُوْلَآ اِنَّا رَسُوْلُ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ16 
تو فرعون کے پاس جاؤ پھر اس سے کہو ہم دونو ں اسکے رسل ہیں جو رب ہے سارے جہا ں کا
And recite to them the news of Ibrahim.
اَنْ اَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۗءِيْلَ17 
کہ تو ہما رے ساتھ بنی اسرائیل کو چھوڑ دے
When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”
قَالَ اَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِيْنَا وَلِيْدًا وَّلَبِثْتَ فِيْنَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِـنِيْنَ18 
بو لا کیا ہم نے تمھیں اپنے یہاں بچپن میں نہ پالا اور تم نے ہما رے یہا ں اپنی عمر کے کئی برس گزارے
They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.”
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ الَّتِيْ فَعَلْتَ وَاَنْتَ مِنَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ19 
اور تم نے کیا اپنا وہ کام جو تم نے کیا اور تم نا شکر تھے
He said, “Do they hear you when you call?”
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ اِذًا وَّاَنَا مِنَ الضَّاۗلِّيْنَ20 
موسٰی نے فر ما یا میں نے وہ کام کیا جب کہ مجھے راہ کی خبر نہ تھی
“Or do they benefit you or harm you?”
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنْكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِيْ رَبِّيْ حُكْمًا وَّجَعَلَنِيْ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ21 
تو میں تمھا رے یہا ں سے نکل گیا جب کے تم سے ڈرا تو میرے رب نے مجھے حکم عطا فرمایا اور مجھے پیغمبروں سے کیا
They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.”
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ اَنْ عَبَّدْتَّ بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۗءِيْلَ22 
اور یہ کوئی نعمت ہے جس کا تو مجھ پر احسان جتاتا ہے کہ تو نے غَلام بناکر رکھے بنی اسرائیل
He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?”
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ23 
فرعون بولا اور سارے جہان کا رب کیا ہے
“You and your forefathers preceding you.”
قَالَ رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۭ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّوْقِنِيْنَ24 
موسیٰ نے فرمایا رب آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان میں ہے، اگر تمہیں یقین ہو
“They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.”
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهٗٓ اَلَا تَسْتَمِعُوْنَ25 
اپنے آس پاس والوں سے بولا کیا تم غور سے سنتے نہیں
“The One Who created me, so He will guide me.”
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ اٰبَاۗىِٕكُمُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ26 
موسیٰ نے فرمایا رب تمہارا اور تمہارے اگلے باپ داداؤں کا
“And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.”
قَالَ اِنَّ رَسُوْلَكُمُ الَّذِيْٓ اُرْسِلَ اِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُوْنٌ27 
بولا تمہارے یہ رسول جو تمہاری طرف بھیجے گئے ہیں ضرور عقل نہیں رکھتے
“And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.”
قَالَ رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۭاِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْقِلُوْنَ28 
موسیٰ نے فرمایا رب پورب(مشرق)اور پچھم(مغرب)کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے اگر تمہیں عقل ہو
“And He will give me death, then resurrect me.”
قَالَ لَىِٕنِ اتَّخَذْتَ اِلٰــهًا غَيْرِيْ لَاَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ الْمَسْجُوْنِيْنَ29 
بولا اگر تم نے میرے سوا کسی اور کو خدا ٹھہرایا تو میں ضرور تمہیں قید کردوں گا
“And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.”
قَالَ اَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَيْءٍ مُّبِيْنٍ30 
فرمایا کیا اگرچہ میں تیرے پاس کوئی روشن چیز لاؤں
“My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.”
قَالَ فَاْتِ بِهٖٓ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ31 
کہا تو لاؤ اگر سچے ہو
“And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations.”
فَاَلْقٰى عَصَاهُ فَاِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِيْنٌ32 
تو موسیٰ نے اپنا عصا ڈال دیا جبھی وہ صریح اژدہا ہوگیا
“And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.”
وَّنَزَعَ يَدَهٗ فَاِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَاۗءُ لِلنّٰظِرِيْنَ   ۧ33 
اور اپنا ہاتھ نکالا تو جبھی وہ دیکھنے والوں کی نگاہ میں جگمگانے لگا
“And forgive my father * – he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle)
قَالَ لِلْمَلَاِ حَوْلَهٗٓ اِنَّ ھٰذَا لَسٰحِرٌ عَلِيْمٌ34 
بولا اپنے گرد کے سرداروں سے کہ بیشک یہ دانا جادوگر ہیں
“And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.”
يُّرِيْدُ اَنْ يُّخْرِجَكُمْ مِّنْ اَرْضِكُمْ بِسِحْرِهٖ ڰ فَمَاذَا تَاْمُرُوْنَ35 
چاہتے ہیں، کہ تمہیں تمہارے ملک سے نکال دیں اپنے جادو کے زور سے، تب تمہارا کیا مشورہ ہے
“The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.”
قَالُوْٓا اَرْجِهْ وَاَخَاهُ وَابْعَثْ فِي الْمَدَاۗىِٕنِ حٰشِرِيْنَ36 
وہ بولے انہیں ان کے بھائی کو ٹھہرائے رہو اور شہروں میں جمع کرنے والے بھیجو
“Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.)
يَاْتُوْكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيْمٍ37 
کہ وہ تیرے پاس لے آئیں ہر بڑے جادوگر دانا کو
And Paradise will be brought close for the pious.
فَجُمِعَ السَّحَرَةُ لِمِيْقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُوْمٍ38 
تو جمع کیے گئے جادوگر ایک مقرر دن کے وعدے پر
And hell will be revealed for the astray.
وَّقِيْلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ اَنْتُمْ مُّجْتَمِعُوْنَ39 
اور لوگوں سے کہا گیا کیا تم جمع ہوگئے
And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?”
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ السَّحَرَةَ اِنْ كَانُوْا هُمُ الْغٰلِبِيْنَ40 
شاید ہم ان جادوگروں ہی کی پیروی کریں اگر یہ غالب آئیں
“Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?”
فَلَمَّا جَاۗءَ السَّحَرَةُ قَالُوْا لِفِرْعَوْنَ اَىِٕنَّ لَنَا لَاَجْرًا اِنْ كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغٰلِبِيْنَ41 
پھر جب جادوگر آئے فرعون سے بولے کیا ہمیں کچھ مزدوری ملے گی اگر ہم غالب آئے
So they and all the astray were flung into hell.
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَاِنَّكُمْ اِذًا لَّمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ42 
بولا ہاں اور اس وقت تم میرے مقرب ہوجاؤ گے
And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan)
قَالَ لَهُمْ مُّوْسٰٓي اَلْقُوْا مَآ اَنْتُمْ مُّلْقُوْنَ43 
موسیٰ نے ان سے فرمایا ڈالو جو تمہیں ڈالنا ہے
And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it
فَاَلْـقَوْا حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوْا بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ اِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الْغٰلِبُوْنَ44 
تو انہوں نے اپنی رسیاں اور لاٹھیاں ڈالیں اور بولے فرعون کی عزت کی قسم بیشک ہماری ہی جیت ہے
“By oath of Allah , we were indeed in open error.”
فَاَلْقٰى مُوْسٰي عَصَاهُ فَاِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَاْفِكُوْنَ45 
تو موسیٰ نے اپنا عصا ڈالا جبھی وہ ان کی بناوٹوں کو نگلنے لگا
“When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.”
فَاُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سٰجِدِيْنَ46 
اب سجدہ میں گرے
“And none misled us but the guilty.”
قَالُوْٓا اٰمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ47 
جادوگر، بولے ہم ایمان لائے اس پر جو سارے جہان کا رب ہے
“So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none).
رَبِّ مُوْسٰي وَهٰرُوْنَ48 
جو موسیٰ اور ہارون کا رب ہے
“Nor a caring friend.”
قَالَ اٰمَنْتُمْ لَهٗ قَبْلَ اَنْ اٰذَنَ لَكُمْ ۚ اِنَّهٗ لَكَبِيْرُكُمُ الَّذِيْ عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ ۚ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ڛ لَاُقَـطِّعَنَّ اَيْدِيَكُمْ وَاَرْجُلَكُمْ مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَّلَاُوصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ49 
فرعون بولا کیا تم اس پر ایمان لائے قبل اس کے کہ میں تمہیں اجازت دوں، بیشک وہ تمہارا بڑا ہے جس نے تمہیں جادو سکھایا تو اب جاننا چاہتے ہو مجھے قسم ہے!بیشک میں تمہارے ہاتھ اور دوسری طرف کے پاؤں کاٹوں گا اور تم سب کو سولی دوں گا
“So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!”
قَالُوْا لَا ضَيْرَ ۡ اِنَّآ اِلٰى رَبِّنَا مُنْقَلِبُوْنَ50 
وہ بولے کچھ نقصان نہیں ہم اپنے رب کی طرف پلٹنے والے ہیں
Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers.
اِنَّا نَــطْمَعُ اَنْ يَّغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطٰيٰنَآ اَنْ كُنَّآ اَوَّلَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ   ۧ51 
ہمیں طمع ہے کہ ہمارا رب ہماری خطائیں بخش دے اس پر کہ سب سے پہلے ایمان لائے
And indeed your Lord - only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
وَاَوْحَيْنَآ اِلٰى مُوْسٰٓي اَنْ اَسْرِ بِعِبَادِيْٓ اِنَّكُمْ مُّتَّبَعُوْنَ52 
اور ہم نے موسٰی کو وحی بھیجی کہ راتوں را ت میرے بندو ں کو لے نکل بیشک تمھارا پیچھا ہو نا ہے
The people of Nooh denied the Noble Messengers.
فَاَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِي الْمَدَاۗىِٕنِ حٰشِرِيْنَ53 
اب فرعون نے شہروں میں جمع کرنے والے بھیجے
When their fellowman Nooh said to them, “Do you not fear?”
اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۗءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيْلُوْنَ54 
کہ یہ لوگ ایک تھوڑی جماعت ہیں
“I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.”
وَاِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَاۗىِٕظُوْنَ55 
اور بیشک ہم سب کا دل جلاتے ہیں
“Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.”
وَاِنَّا لَجَمِيْعٌ حٰذِرُوْنَ56 
اور بیشک ہم سب چوکنے ہیں
“And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.”
فَاَخْرَجْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍ57 
تو ہم نے انہیں باہر نکالا باغوں اور چشموں
“Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.”
وَّكُنُوْزٍ وَّمَقَامٍ كَرِيْمٍ58 
اور خزانوں اور عمدہ مکانوں سے
They said, “Shall we believe in you, whereas the abject people are with you?”
كَذٰلِكَ ۭ وَاَوْرَثْنٰهَا بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۗءِيْلَ59 
ہم نے ایسا ہی کیا اور ان کا وارث کردیا بنی اسرائیل کو
He said, “What do I know what their deeds are?”
فَاَتْبَعُوْهُمْ مُّشْرِقِيْنَ60 
تو فرعونیوں نے ان کا تعاقب کیا دن نکلے
“Indeed their account is only upon my Lord, if you perceive.”
فَلَمَّا تَرَاۗءَ الْجَمْعٰنِ قَالَ اَصْحٰبُ مُوْسٰٓي اِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُوْنَ61 
پھر جب آمنا سامنا ہوا دونوں گروہوں کا موسیٰ والوں نے کہا ہم کو انہوں نے آلیا
“And I will not repel the Muslims.”
قَالَ كَلَّا ۚ اِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّيْ سَيَهْدِيْنِ62 
موسیٰ نے فرمایا یوں نہیں بیشک میرا رب میرے ساتھ ہے وہ مجھے اب راہ دیتا ہے
“I am not but clearly a Herald of Warning.”
فَاَوْحَيْنَآ اِلٰى مُوْسٰٓي اَنِ اضْرِبْ بِّعَصَاكَ الْبَحْرَ ۭ فَانْفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَالطَّوْدِ الْعَظِيْمِ63 
تو ہم نے موسیٰ کو وحی فرمائی کہ دریا پر اپنا عصا مار تو جبھی دریا پھٹ گیا تو ہر حصہ ہوگیا جیسے بڑا پہاڑ
They said, “O Nooh, if you do not desist you will surely be stoned.”
وَاَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ الْاٰخَرِيْنَ64 
اور وہاں قریب لائے ہم دوسروں کو
He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me.”
وَاَنْجَيْنَا مُوْسٰي وَمَنْ مَّعَهٗٓ اَجْمَعِيْنَ65 
اور ہم نے بچالیا موسیٰ اور اس کے سب ساتھ والوں کو
“Therefore make a decisive judgement between me and them, and rescue me and the believers along with me.”
ثُمَّ اَغْرَقْنَا الْاٰخَرِيْنَ66 
پھر دوسروں کو ڈبو دیا
So We saved him and those with him in a laden ship.
اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً ۭ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ67 
بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانی ہے اور ان میں اکثر مسلمان نہ تھے
Then after it, We drowned the rest.
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ   ۧ68 
اور بیشک تمہارا رب وہی عزت والا مہربان ہے
Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers.
وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَاَ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ69 
اور ان پر پڑھو خبر ابراہیم کی
And indeed your Lord, only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
اِذْ قَالَ لِاَبِيْهِ وَقَوْمِهٖ مَا تَعْبُدُوْنَ70 
جب اس نے اپنے باپ اور اپنی قوم سے فرمایا تم کیا پوجتے ہو
(The tribe of) A’ad denied the Noble Messengers.
قَالُوْا نَعْبُدُ اَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عٰكِفِيْنَ71 
بولے ہم بتوں کو پوجتے ہیں پھر ان کے سامنے آسن مارے رہتے ہیں،
When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?”
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُوْنَكُمْ اِذْ تَدْعُوْنَ72 
فرمایا کیا وہ تمہاری سنتے ہیں جب تم پکارو
“I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.”
اَوْ يَنْفَعُوْنَكُمْ اَوْ يَضُرُّوْنَ73 
یا تمہارا کچھ بھلا برا کرتے ہیں
“Therefore fear Allah and obey me.”
قَالُوْا بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ اٰبَاۗءَنَا كَذٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُوْنَ74 
بولے بلکہ ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو ایسا ہی کرتے پایا
“And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.”
قَالَ اَفَرَءَيْتُمْ مَّا كُنْتُمْ تَعْبُدُوْنَ75 
فرمایا تو کیا تم دیکھتے ہو یہ جنہیں پوج رہے ہو
“What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?”
اَنْتُمْ وَاٰبَاۗؤُكُمُ الْاَقْدَمُوْنَ76 
تم اور تمہارے اگلے باپ دادا
“And prefer strong palaces, that perhaps you may live for ever?”
فَاِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّيْٓ اِلَّا رَبَّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ77 
بیشک وہ سب میرے دشمن ہیں مگر پروردگار عالم
“And when you apprehend someone, you seize him mercilessly?”
الَّذِيْ خَلَقَنِيْ فَهُوَ يَهْدِيْنِ78 
وہ جس نے مجھے پیدا کیا تو وہ مجھے راہ دے گا
“Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.”
وَالَّذِيْ هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِيْ وَيَسْقِيْنِ79 
اور وہ جو مجھے کھلاتا اور پلاتا ہے
“Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.”
وَاِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِيْنِ80 
اور جب میں بیمار ہوں تو وہی مجھے شفا دیتا ہے
“He aided you with cattle and sons.”
وَالَّذِيْ يُمِيْـتُـنِيْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيْنِ81 
اور وہ مجھے وفات دے گا پھر مجھے زندہ کرے گا
“And with gardens and water-springs.”
وَالَّذِيْٓ اَطْمَــعُ اَنْ يَّغْفِرَ لِيْ خَطِيْۗـــــَٔــتِيْ يَوْمَ الدِّيْنِ82 
اور وہ جس کی مجھے آس لگی ہے کہ میری خطائیں قیامت کے دن بخشے گا
“Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.”
رَبِّ هَبْ لِيْ حُكْمًا وَّاَلْـحِقْنِيْ بِالصّٰلِحِيْنَ83 
اے میرے رب مجھے حکم عطا کر اور مجھے ان سے ملادے جو تیرے قرب خاص کے سزاوار ہیں
They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.”
وَاجْعَلْ لِّيْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْاٰخِرِيْنَ84 
اور میری سچی ناموری رکھ پچھلوں میں
“This is nothing but the tradition of former people.”
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِنْ وَّرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيْمِ85 
اور مجھے ان میں کر جو چین کے باغوں کے وارث ہیں
“And we will not be punished.”
وَاغْفِرْ لِاَبِيْٓ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّاۗلِّيْنَ86 
اور میرے باپ کو بخش دے بیشک وہ گمراہ
In response they denied him - We therefore destroyed them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers.
وَلَا تُخْزِنِيْ يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُوْنَ87 
اور مجھے رسوا نہ کرنا جس دن سب اٹھائے جائیں گے
And indeed your Lord - only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
يَوْمَ لَا يَنْفَعُ مَالٌ وَّلَا بَنُوْنَ88 
جس دن نہ مال کام آئے گا نہ بیٹے
The Thamud tribe denied the Noble Messengers.
اِلَّا مَنْ اَتَى اللّٰهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيْمٍ89 
مگر وہ جو اللہ کے حضور حاضر ہوا سلامت دل لے کر
When their fellowman Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?”
وَاُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ90 
اور قریب لائی جائے گی جنت پرہیزگاروں کے لیے
“I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.”
وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيْمُ لِلْغٰوِيْنَ91 
اور ظاہر کی جائے گی دوزخ گمراہوں کے لیے
“Therefore fear Allah and obey me.”
وَقِيْلَ لَهُمْ اَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْبُدُوْنَ92 
اور ان سے کہا جائے گا کہاں ہیں وہ جن کو تم پوجتے تھے
“And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.”
مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ ۭ هَلْ يَنْصُرُوْنَكُمْ اَوْ يَنْتَصِرُوْنَ93 
اللہ کے سوا، کیا وہ تمہاری مدد کریں گے یا بدلہ لیں گے،
“Will you be left peacefully in these favours over here?”
فَكُبْكِبُوْا فِيْهَا هُمْ وَالْغَاوٗنَ94 
تو اوندھا دیے گئے جہنم میں وہ اور سب گمراہ
“In gardens and water springs?”
وَجُنُوْدُ اِبْلِيْسَ اَجْمَعُوْنَ95 
اور ابلیس کے لشکر سارے
“And fields and palm-trees, with delicate tendrils?”
قَالُوْا وَهُمْ فِيْهَا يَخْتَصِمُوْنَ96 
کہیں گے اور وہ اس میں باہم جھگڑے ہوں گے
“And you carve out dwellings in the mountains, with skill?”
تَاللّٰهِ اِنْ كُنَّا لَفِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ97 
خدا کی قسم بیشک ہم کھلی گمراہی میں تھے
“Therefore fear Allah and obey me.”
اِذْ نُسَوِّيْكُمْ بِرَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ98 
جبکہ انہیں رب العالمین کے برابر ٹھہراتے تھے
“And do not follow those who exceed the limits.”
وَمَآ اَضَلَّنَآ اِلَّا الْمُجْرِمُوْنَ99 
اور ہمیں نہ بہکایا مگر مجرموں نے
“Those who spread turmoil in the earth, and do no reform.”
فَمَا لَنَا مِنْ شَافِعِيْنَ ١100 
تو اب ہمارا کوئی سفارشی نہیں
They said, “You are under a magic spell.”
وَلَا صَدِيْقٍ حَمِيْمٍ101 
اور نہ کوئی غم خوار دوست
“You are just a human like us; therefore bring some sign if you are truthful.”
فَلَوْ اَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ102 
تو کسی طرح ہمیں پھر جانا ہوتا کہ ہم مسلمان ہوجاتے
He said, “This is the she-camel – one day shall be her turn to drink, and on the other appointed day, shall be your turn.”
اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً ۭ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ103 
بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانی ہے، اور ان میں بہت ایمان والے نہ تھے
“And do not touch her with evil intentions for the punishment of the Great Day will seize you.”
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ ١   ۧ104 
اور بیشک تمہارا رب وہی عزت والا مہربان ہے
So they hamstrung her, and in the morning could only regret.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوْحِۨ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١105 
نوح کی قوم نے پیغمبروں کو جھٹلایا
The punishment therefore seized them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers.
اِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ اَخُوْهُمْ نُوْحٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ ١106 
جبکہ ان سے ان کے ہم قوم نوح نے کہا کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں
And indeed your Lord - only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
اِنِّىْ لَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ اَمِيْنٌ ١107 
بیشک میں تمہارے لیے اللہ کا بھیجا ہوا امین ہوں
The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers.
فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوْنِ ١108 
تو اللہ سے ڈرو اور میرا حکم مانو
When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?”
وَمَآ اَسْـَٔــلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ اَجْرٍ ۚ اِنْ اَجْرِيَ اِلَّا عَلٰي رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١109 
اور میں اس پر تم سے کچھ اجرت نہیں مانگتا میرا اجر تو اسی پر ہے جو سارے جہان کا رب ہے
“I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.”
فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوْنِ ١110 
تو اللہ سے ڈرو اور میرا حکم مانو
“Therefore fear Allah and obey me.”
قَالُـوْٓا اَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَاتَّبَعَكَ الْاَرْذَلُوْنَ ١111 
بولے کیا ہم تم پر ایمان لے آئیں اور تمہارے ساتھ کمینے ہوےٴ ہیں
“And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.”
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِىْ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ١112 
فرمایا مجھے کیا خبر ان کے کام کیا ہیں
“What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?”
اِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ اِلَّا عَلٰي رَبِّيْ لَوْ تَشْعُرُوْنَ ١113 
ان کا حساب تو میرے رب ہی پر ہے اگر تمہیں حِس ہو
“And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.”
وَمَآ اَنَا بِطَارِدِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ١114 
اور میں مسلمانوں کو دور کرنے والا نہیں
They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.”
اِنْ اَنَا اِلَّا نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ١115 
میں تو نہیں مگر صاف ڈر سنانے والا
He said, “I am disgusted with your works.”
قَالُوْا لَىِٕنْ لَّمْ تَنْتَهِ يٰنُوْحُ لَتَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْمَرْجُوْمِيْنَ ١116 
بولے اے نوح!اگر تم باز نہ آئے تو ضرور سنگسار کیے جاؤ گے
“My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.”
قَالَ رَبِّ اِنَّ قَوْمِيْ كَذَّبُوْنِ ١117 
عرض کی اے میرے رب میری قوم نے مجھے جھٹلایا
We therefore rescued him and his entire family.
فَافْتَحْ بَيْنِيْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَّنَجِّـنِيْ وَمَنْ مَّعِيَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ118 
تو مجھ میں اور ان میں پورا فیصلہ کردے اور مجھے اور میرے ساتھ والے مسلمانوں کو نجات دے
Except one old woman, who stayed behind.
فَاَنْجَيْنٰهُ وَمَنْ مَّعَهٗ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُوْنِ ١119 
تو ہم نے بچالیا اسے اور اس کے ساتھ والوں کو بھری ہوئی کشتی میں
We then destroyed the others.
ثُمَّ اَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ الْبٰقِيْنَ ١120 
پھر اس کے بعد ہم نے باقیوں کو ڈبو دیا
And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned!
اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً ۭ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ121 
بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانی ہے، اور ان میں اکثر مسلمان نہ تھے
Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims.
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ ١   ۧ122 
اور بیشک تمہارا رب ہی عزت والا مہربان ہے
And indeed your Lord - only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ عَادُۨ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١123 
عاد نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا
The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers.
اِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ اَخُوْهُمْ هُوْدٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ ١124 
جبکہ ان سے ان کے ہم قوم ہود نے فرمایا کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں
When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?”
اِنِّىْ لَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ اَمِيْنٌ ١125 
بیشک میں تمہارے لیے امانتدار رسول ہوں
“I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.”
فَاتَّـقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوْنِ ١126 
تو اللہ سے ڈرو اور میرا حکم مانو
“Therefore fear Allah and obey me.”
وَمَآ اَسْـَٔــلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ اَجْرٍ ۚ اِنْ اَجْرِيَ اِلَّا عَلٰي رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١127 
اور میں تم سے اس پر کچھ اجرت نہیں مانگتا، میرا اجر تو اسی پر ہے جو سارے جہان کا رب
“And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.”
اَتَبْنُوْنَ بِكُلِّ رِيْعٍ اٰيَةً تَعْبَثُوْنَ ١128 
کیا ہر بلندی پر ایک نشان بناتے ہو راہ گیروں سے ہنسنے کو
“Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.”
وَتَتَّخِذُوْنَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُوْنَ ١129 
اور مضبوط محل چنتے ہو اس امید پر کہ تم ہمیشہ رہوگے
“And weigh with a proper balance.”
وَاِذَا بَطَشْتُمْ بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِيْنَ ١130 
اور جب کسی پر گرفت کرتے ہو تو بڑی بیدردی سے گرفت کرتے ہو
“And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.”
فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوْنِ ١131 
تو اللہ سے ڈرو اور میرا حکم مانو
“And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.”
وَاتَّــقُوا الَّذِيْٓ اَمَدَّكُمْ بِمَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ ١132 
اور اس سے ڈرو جس نے تمہاری مدد کی ان چیزوں سے کہ تمہیں معلوم ہیں
They said, “You are under a magic spell.”
اَمَدَّكُمْ بِاَنْعَامٍ وَّبَنِيْنَ ١133 
تمہاری مدد کی چوپایوں اور بیٹوں
“You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.”
وَجَنّٰتٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍ ١134 
اور باغوں اور چشموں سے
“Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.”
اِنِّىْٓ اَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيْمٍ ١135 
بیشک مجھے تم پر ڈر ہے ایک بڑے دن کے عذاب کا
He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.”
قَالُوْا سَوَاۗءٌ عَلَيْنَآ اَوَعَــظْتَ اَمْ لَمْ تَكُنْ مِّنَ الْوٰعِظِيْنَ ١136 
بولے ہمیں برابر ہے چاہے تم نصیحت کرو یا ناصحوں میں نہ ہو
In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent * seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them).
اِنْ ھٰذَآ اِلَّا خُلُقُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ١137 
یہ تو نہیں مگر وہی اگلوں کی ریت
Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims.
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِيْنَ ١138 
اور ہمیں عذاب ہونا نہیں
And indeed your Lord - only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
فَكَذَّبُوْهُ فَاَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ ۭ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً ۭ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ139 
تو انہوں نے اسے جھٹلایا تو ہم نے انہیں بلاک کیا بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانی ہے، اور ان میں بہت مسلمان نہ تھے
And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation.
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ ١   ۧ140 
اور بیشک تمہارا رب ہی عزت والا مہربان ہے
The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.)
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُوْدُ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١141 
ثمود نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا
Upon your heart, for you to convey warning.
اِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ اَخُوْهُمْ صٰلِحٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ ١142 
جبکہ ان سے ان کے ہم قوم صا لح نے فرمایا کیا ڈرتے نہیں
In plain Arabic language.
اِنِّىْ لَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ اَمِيْنٌ ١143 
بیشک میں تمہارے لیے اللہ کا امانتدار رسول ہوں
And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books.
فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوْنِ ١144 
تو اللہ سے ڈرو اور میرا حکم مانو
And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet?
وَمَآ اَسْـَٔــلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ اَجْرٍ ۚ اِنْ اَجْرِيَ اِلَّا عَلٰي رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١145 
اور میں تم سے کچھ اس پر اجرت نہیں مانگتا، میرا اجر تو اسی پر ہے جو سارے جہان کا رب ہے
And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab,
اَتُتْرَكُوْنَ فِيْ مَا هٰهُنَآ اٰمِنِيْنَ ١146 
کیا تم یہاں کی نعمتوں میں چین سے چھوڑ دیے جاؤ گے
In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it.
فِيْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍ ١147 
باغوں اور چشموں
This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty.
وَّزُرُوْعٍ وَّنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيْمٌ ١148 
اور کھیتوں اور کھجوروں میں جن کا شگوفہ نرم نازک
They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment.
وَتَنْحِتُوْنَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوْتًا فٰرِهِيْنَ ١149 
اور پہاڑوں میں سے گھر تراشتے ہو استادی سے
So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware.
فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوْنِ ١150 
تو اللہ سے ڈرو اور میرا حکم مانو
They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?”
وَلَا تُطِيْعُوْٓا اَمْرَ الْمُسْرِفِيْنَ ١151 
اور حد سے بڑھنے والوں کے کہنے پر نہ چلو
So do they wish to hasten Our punishment?
الَّذِيْنَ يُفْسِدُوْنَ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُوْنَ152 
وہ جو زمین میں فساد پھیلاتے ہیں اور بناؤ نہیں کرتے
Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, -
قَالُوْٓا اِنَّمَآ اَنْتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِيْنَ ١153 
بولے تم پر تو جادو ہوا ہے
And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them-
مَآ اَنْتَ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا ښ فَاْتِ بِاٰيَةٍ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ154 
تم تو ہمیں جیسے آدمی ہو، تو کوئی نشانی لاؤ اگر سچے ہو
So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using?
قَالَ هٰذِهٖ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَّلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُوْمٍ ١155 
فرمایا یہ ناقہ ہے ایک دن اس کے پینے کی باری اور ایک معین دن تمہاری باری
And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, -
وَلَا تَمَسُّوْهَا بِسُوْۗءٍ فَيَاْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيْمٍ156 
اور اسے برائی کے ساتھ نہ چھوؤ کہ تمہیں بڑے دن کا عذاب آلے گا
To advise; and We never oppress.
فَعَقَرُوْهَا فَاَصْبَحُوْا نٰدِمِيْنَ ١157 
اس پر انہوں نے اس کی کونچیں کاٹ دیں پھر صبح کو پچھتاتے رہ گئے
And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils.
فَاَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ ۭ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً ۭ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ158 
تو انہیں عذاب نے آلیا بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانی ہے، اور ان میں بہت مسلمان نہ تھے
They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it.
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ ١   ۧ159 
اور بیشک تمہارا رب ہی عزت والا مہربان ہے
Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوْطِۨ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١160 
لوط کی قوم نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا
Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished.
اِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ اَخُوْهُمْ لُوْطٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ ١161 
جب کہ ان سے ان کے ہم قوم لوط نے فرمایا کیا تم نہیں ڈرتے
And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives.
اِنِّىْ لَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ اَمِيْنٌ ١162 
بیشک میں تمہارے لیے اللہ کا امانتدار رسول ہوں
And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you.
فَاتَّــقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوْنِ ١163 
تو اللہ سے ڈرو اور میرا حکم مانو
So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.”
وَمَآ اَسْـَٔــلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ اَجْرٍ ۚ اِنْ اَجْرِيَ اِلَّا عَلٰي رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١164 
اور میں اس پر تم سے کچھ اجرت نہیں مانگتا میرا اجر تو اسی پر ہے جو سارے جان کا رب ہے
And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
اَتَاْتُوْنَ الذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١165 
کیا مخلوق میں مردوں سے بدفعلی کرتے ہو
Who watches you when you stand up.
وَتَذَرُوْنَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ مِّنْ اَزْوَاجِكُمْ ۭ بَلْ اَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ عٰدُوْنَ166 
اور چھوڑتے ہو وہ جو تمہارے لیے تمہارے رب نے جوروئیں بنائیں، بلکہ تم لوگ حد سے بڑھنے والے ہو
And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer.
قَالُوْا لَىِٕنْ لَّمْ تَنْتَهِ يٰلُوْطُ لَتَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْمُخْرَجِيْنَ167 
بولے اے لوط!اگر تم باز نہ آئے تو ضرور نکال دیے جاؤ گے
Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing.
قَالَ اِنِّىْ لِعَمَلِكُمْ مِّنَ الْقَالِيْنَ ١168 
فرمایا میں تمہارے کام سے بیزار ہوں
Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend?
رَبِّ نَجِّنِيْ وَاَهْلِيْ مِمَّا يَعْمَلُوْنَ169 
اے میرے رب!مجھے اور میرے گھر والوں کو ان کے کام سے بچا
They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians)
فَنَجَّيْنٰهُ وَاَهْلَهٗٓ اَجْمَعِيْنَ ١170 
تو ہم نے اسے اور اس کے سب گھر والوں کو نجات بخشی
The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars.
اِلَّا عَجُوْزًا فِي الْغٰبِرِيْنَ ١171 
مگر ایک بڑھیا کہ پیچھے رہ گئی
And the astray follow the poets.
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْاٰخَرِيْنَ ١172 
پھر ہم نے دوسروں کو ہلاک کردیا
Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley?
وَاَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَّطَرًا ۚ فَسَاۗءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنْذَرِيْنَ173 
اور ہم نے ان پر ایک برساؤ برسایا تو کیا ہی برا برساؤ تھا ڈرائے گئیوں کا
And they speak what they do not do?
اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً ۭ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ174 
بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانی ہے، اور ان میں بہت مسلمان نہ تھے
Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged *; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned **. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the P
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ ١   ۧ175 
اور بیشک تمہارا رب ہی عزت والا مہربان ہے
Ta-Seen*; these are verses of the Qur’an and the clear Book. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.)
كَذَّبَ اَصْحٰبُ لْــــَٔــيْكَةِ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ١176 
بن والوں نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا
A guidance and glad tidings for the believers.
اِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ ١177 
جب ان سے شعیب نے فرمایا کیا ڈرتے نہیں
Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and are certain of the Hereafter.
اِنِّىْ لَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ اَمِيْنٌ ١178 
بیشک میں تمہارے لیے اللہ کا امانتدار رسول ہوں
Those who do not believe in the Hereafter - We have made their deeds seem good to them, so they are astray.
فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوْنِ ١179 
تو اللہ سے ڈرو اور میرا حکم مانو
It is they for whom is the worst punishment, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter.
وَمَآ اَسْـَٔــلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ اَجْرٍ ۚ اِنْ اَجْرِيَ اِلَّا عَلٰي رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١180 
اور میں اس پر تم سے کچھ اجرت نہیں مانگتا میرا اجر تو اسی پر ہے جو سارے جہان کا رب ہے
And indeed you (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), are taught the Qur’an from the Wise, the All Knowing.
اَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُوْنُوْا مِنَ الْمُخْسِرِيْنَ ١181 
ناپ پورا کرو اور گھٹانے والوں میں نہ ہو
(Remember) when Moosa said to his wife, “I have sighted a fire; I will soon bring its news to you, or bring for you an ember from it so that you may warm yourselves.”
وَزِنُوْا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْـتَقِيْمِ ١182 
اور سیدھی ترازو سے تولو
So when he reached it, it was proclaimed, “Blessed is he who is in the location of the fire (Moosa) and those who are close to it (the angels); and Purity is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.”
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ اَشْيَاۗءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْاَرْضِ مُفْسِدِيْنَ ١183 
اور لوگوں کی چیزیں کم کرکے نہ دو اور زمین میں فساد پھیلاتے نہ پھرو
“O Moosa, I am indeed, in truth, Allah the Almighty, the Wise.”
وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ وَالْجِبِلَّةَ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ١184 
اور اس سے ڈرو جس نے تم کو پیدا کیا اور اگلی مخلوق کو
“And put down your staff”; so when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned moving away without looking back; We said, “O Moosa, do not fear; indeed the Noble Messengers do not fear in My presence.”
قَالُوْٓا اِنَّمَآ اَنْتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِيْنَ ١185 
بولے تم پر جادو ہوا ہے
“Except the one * who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue – then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.)
وَمَآ اَنْتَ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَاِنْ نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ الْكٰذِبِيْنَ ١186 
تم تو نہیں مگر ہم جیسے آدمی اور بیشک ہم تمہیں جھوٹا سمجھتے ہیں
“And put your hand inside your armpit - it will come out shining white, not due to any illness; a sign among the nine signs towards Firaun and his people; they are indeed a lawless nation.”
فَاَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاۗءِ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ١187 
تو ہم پر آسمان کا کوئی ٹکڑا گرا دو اگر تم سچے ہو
Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.”
قَالَ رَبِّيْٓ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ188 
فرمایا میرا رب خوب جانتا ہے جو تمہارے کوتک (کرتوت)ہیں
And they denied them - whereas in their hearts they were certain of them - due to injustice and pride; therefore see what sort of fate befell the mischievous!
فَكَذَّبُوْهُ فَاَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ ۭ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيْمٍ189 
تو انہوں نے اسے جھٹلایا تو انہیں شامیانے والے دن کے عذاب نے آلیا، بیشک وہ بڑے دن کا عذاب تھا
And We indeed bestowed great knowledge to Dawud and Sulaiman; and they both said, “All praise is to Allah, Who bestowed us superiority over many of His believing bondmen.”
اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً ۭ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ190 
بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانی ہے، اور ان میں بہت مسلمان نہ تھے
And Sulaiman became Dawud’s heir; and he said, “O people, we have indeed been taught the language of birds, and have been given from all things; this surely is a manifest favour.”
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ ١   ۧ191 
اور بیشک تمہارار ب ہی عزت والا مہربان ہے
And assembled together for Sulaiman were his armies of jinns and men, and of birds – so they had to be restricted.
وَاِنَّهٗ لَتَنْزِيْلُ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١192 
اور بیشک یہ قرآن رب العالمین کا اتارا ہوا ہے
Until when they came to the valley of the ants, a she ant exclaimed, “O ants, enter your houses – may not Sulaiman and his armies crush you, unknowingly.”
نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوْحُ الْاَمِيْنُ ١193 
اسے روح الا مین لے کر اترا
He therefore smiled beamingly at her speech*, and submitted, “My Lord, bestow me guidance so that I thank you for the favour which You bestowed upon me and my parents, and so that I may perform the good deeds which please You, and by Your mercy include m
عَلٰي قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُنْذِرِيْنَ ١194 
تمہارے دل پر کہ تم ڈر سناؤ
And he surveyed the birds – he therefore said, “What is to me that I do not see the Hudhud (hoopoe), or is he really absent?”
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مُّبِيْنٍ ١195 
روشن عربی زبان میں،
“I will indeed punish him severely or slay him, or he must bring to me some clear evidence.”
وَاِنَّهٗ لَفِيْ زُبُرِ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ196 
اور بیشک اس کا چرچا اگلی کتابوں میں ہے
So Hudhud did not stay absent for long, and presenting himself submitted, “I have witnessed a matter that your majesty has not seen, and I have brought definite information to you from the city of Saba.”
اَوَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهُمْ اٰيَةً اَنْ يَّعْلَمَهٗ عُلَمٰۗؤُا بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۗءِيْلَ ١197 
اور کیا یہ ان کے لیے نشانی نہ تھی کہ اس نبی کو جانتے ہیں بنی اسرائیل کے عالم
“I have seen a woman who rules over them, and she has been given from all things, and she has a mighty throne.”
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنٰهُ عَلٰي بَعْضِ الْاَعْجَمِيْنَ198 
اور اگر ہم اسے کسی غیر عربی شخص پر اتارتے
“I found her and her nation prostrating before the sun instead of Allah, and Satan has made their deeds seem good to them thereby preventing them from the Straight Path - so they do not attain guidance.”
فَقَرَاَهٗ عَلَيْهِمْ مَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ مُؤْمِنِيْنَ199 
کہ وہ انہیں پڑھ کر سناتا جب بھی اس پر ایمان نہ لاتے
“Why do they not prostrate to Allah, Who brings forth the things hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows all what you hide and all what you disclose?”
كَذٰلِكَ سَلَكْنٰهُ فِيْ قُلُوْبِ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ ٢200 
ہم نے یونہی جھٹلانا پیرا دیا ہے مجرموں کے دلوں میں
“Allah - there is no True God except Him, the Owner of the Great Throne.” (Command of Prostration # 8)
لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِهٖ حَتّٰى يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْاَلِيْمَ ٢201 
وہ اس پر ایمان نہ لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ دیکھیں دردناک عذاب
Said Sulaiman, “We shall now see whether you spoke the truth or are among the liars.”
فَيَاْتِيَهُمْ بَغْتَةً وَّهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ ٢202 
تو وہ اچانک ان پر آجائے گا اور انہیں خبر نہ ہوگی
“Go with this letter of mine and drop it upon them - then move aside from them and see what they answer in return.”
فَيَقُوْلُوْا هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنْظَرُوْنَ ٢203 
تو کہیں گے کیا ہمیں کچھ مہلت ملے گی
The woman said, “O chieftains, indeed a noble letter has been dropped upon me.”
اَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَ204 
تو کیا ہمارے عذاب کی جلدی کرتے ہیں
“Indeed it is from Sulaiman, and it is (begins) with ‘Allah - in the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.’ ”
اَفَرَءَيْتَ اِنْ مَّتَّعْنٰهُمْ سِـنِيْنَ ٢205 
بھلا دیکھو تو اگر کچھ برس ہم انہیں برتنے دیں
“That ‘Do not wish eminence above me, and present yourselves humbly to me, with submission.’ ”
ثُمَّ جَاۗءَهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يُوْعَدُوْنَ ٢206 
پھر آئے ان پر جس کا وہ وعدہ دیے جاتے ہیں
She said, “O chieftains, advise me in this matter of mine; I do not give a final decision until you are present with me.”
مَآ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يُمَـتَّعُوْنَ ٢207 
تو کیا کام آئے گا ان کے وہ جو برتتے تھے
They said, “We possess great strength and are great warriors, and the decision is yours, therefore consider what you will command.”
وَمَآ اَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ اِلَّا لَهَا مُنْذِرُوْنَ208 
اور ہم نے کوئی بستی ہلاک نہ کی جسے ڈر سنانے والے نہ ہوں
She said, “Indeed the kings, when they enter a township, destroy it and disgrace its honourable people; and this is what they do.”
ۇ ذِكْرٰي ڕ وَمَا كُنَّا ظٰلِمِيْنَ209 
نصیحت کے لیے، اور ہم ظلم نہیں کرتے
“And I shall send a present to them, then see what reply the envoys bring.”
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ الشَّيٰطِيْنُ210 
او راس قرآن کو لے کر شیطان نہ اترے
So when the envoy came to Sulaiman, he said, “Are you helping me with wealth? What Allah has bestowed upon me is better than what He has given you; rather it is you who are delighted at your gift.”
وَمَا يَنْۢبَغِيْ لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَ ٢211 
اور وہ اس قابل نہیں اور نہ وہ ایسا کرسکتے ہیں
“Go back to them – so we shall indeed come upon them with an army they cannot fight, and degrading them shall certainly drive them out from that city, so they will be humiliated.”
اِنَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُوْلُوْنَ ٢212 
وہ تو سننے کی جگہ سے دور کردیے گئے ہیں
Said Sulaiman, “O court members, which one of you can bring me her throne before they come humbled in my presence?”
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ اللّٰهِ اِلٰـهًا اٰخَرَ فَتَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُعَذَّبِيْنَ ٢213 
تو اللہ کے سوا دوسرا خدا نہ پوج کہ تجھ پر عذاب ہوگا
An extremely evil jinn said, “I will bring it in your presence before you disperse the assembly; and I am indeed strong and trustworthy upon it.”
وَاَنْذِرْ عَشِيْرَتَكَ الْاَقْرَبِيْنَ ٢214 
اور اے محبوب!اپنے قریب تر رشتہ داروں کو ڈراؤ
Said one who had knowledge of the Book, “I will bring it in your majesty’s presence before you bat your eyelid”; then when he saw it set in his presence*, Sulaiman said, “This is of the favours of my Lord; so that He may test me whether I give thanks or
وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٢215 
اور اپنی رحمت کا بازو بچھاؤ اپنے پیرو مسلمانوں کے لیے
Said Sulaiman, “Disguise her throne in front of her so that we may see whether she finds the way * or becomes of those who remain unknowing.” (*Recognises her throne.)
فَاِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ اِنِّىْ بَرِيْۗءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُوْنَ216 
تو اگر وہ تمہارا حکم نہ مانیں تو فرمادو میں تمہارے کاموں سے بے علاقہ ہوں
Then when she came, it was said to her, “Is your throne like this? She said, “As if this is it! And we came to know about this incident beforehand and submit (to you).”
ۚ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَي الْعَزِيْزِ الرَّحِيْمِ ٢217 
اور اس پر بھروسہ کرو جو عزت والا مہر والا ہے
And the thing she used to worship instead of Allah prevented her; she was indeed from the disbelieving people.
الَّذِيْ يَرٰىكَ حِيْنَ تَقُوْمُ ٢218 
جو تمہیں دیکھتا ہے جب تم کھڑے ہوتے ہو
It was said to her, “Enter the hall”; and when she saw it she thought it was a pool and bared her shins *; said Sulaiman, “This is only is a smooth hall, affixed with glass”; she said, “My Lord, I have indeed wronged myself, and I now submit myself along
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِي السّٰجِدِيْنَ219 
اور نمازیوں میں تمہارے دورے کو
And indeed We sent to the Thamud, their fellowman Saleh that, “Worship Allah”, thereupon they became two parties quarrelling.
اِنَّهٗ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ220 
بیشک وہی سنتا جانتا ہے
He said, “O my people, why do you hasten upon the evil before the good? Why do you not seek forgiveness from Allah? Perhaps there may be mercy upon you.”
هَلْ اُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلٰي مَنْ تَنَزَّلُ الشَّيٰطِيْنُ ٢221 
کیا میں تمہیں بتادوں کہ کس پر اترتے ہیں شیطان
They said, “We consider you an evil omen, and your companions”; he said, “Your evil omen is with Allah - in fact you people have fallen into trial.”
تَنَزَّلُ عَلٰي كُلِّ اَفَّاكٍ اَثِـيْمٍ ٢222 
اترتے ہیں بڑے بہتان والے گناہگار پر
And there were nine persons in the city who used to cause turmoil in the land and did not wish reform.
يُّلْقُوْنَ السَّمْعَ وَاَكْثَرُهُمْ كٰذِبُوْنَ ٢223 
شیطان اپنی سنی ہوئی ان پر ڈالتے ہیں اور ان میں اکثر جھوٹے ہیں
Swearing by Allah they said to one another, “We will indeed attack him and his family at night, and then say to his heir, ‘We were not present at the time of slaying of this household, and indeed we are truthful.’ ”
وَالشُّعَرَاۗءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ الْغَاوٗنَ ٢224 
اور شاعروں کی پیرو ی گمراہ کرتے ہیں
So they devised a scheme, and We made our secret plan, and they remained neglectful.
اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّهُمْ فِيْ كُلِّ وَادٍ يَّهِيْمُوْنَ ٢225 
کیا تم نے نہ دیکھا کہ وہ ہر نالے میں سرگرداں پھرتے ہیں
Therefore see what was the result of their scheming - We destroyed them and their entire nation.
وَاَنَّهُمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُوْنَ ٢226 
اور وہ کہتے ہیں جو نہیں کرتے
So these are their houses fallen flat, the recompense of their injustice; indeed in this is a sign for people who know.
اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا اللّٰهَ كَثِيْرًا وَّانْتَــصَرُوْا مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوْا ۭ وَسَـيَعْلَمُ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْٓا اَيَّ مُنْقَلَبٍ يَّنْقَلِبُوْنَ ٢   ۧ227 
مگر وہ جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے اور بکثرت اللہ کی یاد کی اور بدلہ لیا بعد اس کے کہ ان پر ظلم ہوا اور اب جاننا چاہتے ہیں ظالم کہ کس کروٹ پر پلٹا کھائیں گے
And We rescued those who accepted faith and used to fear.
