سورة الحجر
اٰیاتہا 99
 The Rocky Tract / Al Hijr (Recite)

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان رحم والا
الۗرٰ ۣ تِلْكَ اٰيٰتُ الْكِتٰبِ وَقُرْاٰنٍ مُّبِيْنٍ1 
یہ آیتیں ہیں کتاب اور روشن قرآن کی
" He said, ""Do you convey to me the glad tidings upon old age reaching me? So upon what do you convey glad tidings?"" (* Prophet Ibrahim said this out of surprise.) "
رُبَمَا يَوَدُّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَوْ كَانُوْا مُسْلِمِيْنَ2 
بہت آرزوئیں کریں گے کافر کاش مسلمان ہوتے
" They said, ""We have given you true tidings, therefore do not lose hope."" "
ذَرْهُمْ يَاْكُلُوْا وَيَتَمَتَّعُوْا وَيُلْهِهِمُ الْاَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُوْنَ3 
انہیں چھوڑو کہ کھائیں اور برتیں اور امید انہیں کھیل میں ڈالے تو اب جانا چاہتے ہیں
" He said, ""Who is it that despairs from the mercy of his Lord, except those who are astray?"" "
وَمَآ اَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ اِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُوْمٌ4 
اور جو بستی ہم نے ہلاک کی اس کا ایک جانا ہوا نوشتہ تھا
" He said, ""And what is your next task, O the sent angels?"" "
مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ اُمَّةٍ اَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَاْخِرُوْنَ5 
کو ئی گروہ اپنے وعدہ سے آگے نہ بڑھے نہ پیچھے ہٹے
" They said, ""We have been sent towards a guilty nation."" "
وَقَالُوْا يٰٓاَيُّھَا الَّذِيْ نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ اِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُوْنٌ6 
اور بولے کہ اے وہ جن پر قرآن اترا بیشک مجنون ہو
" ""Except the family of Lut; we shall rescue all of them."" "
لَوْ مَا تَاْتِيْنَا بِالْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةِ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ7 
ہمارے پاس فرشتے کیوں نہیں لاتے اگر تم سچے ہو
" ""Except his wife - we have decided that she is of those who will stay behind."" "
مَا نُنَزِّلُ الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةَ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوْٓا اِذًا مُّنْظَرِيْنَ8 
ہم فرشتے بیکار نہیں اتارتے اور وہ اتریں تو انہیں مہلت نہ ملے
And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut.
اِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَاِنَّا لَهٗ لَحٰفِظُوْنَ9 
بیشک ہم نے اتارا ہے یہ قرآن اور بیشک ہم خود اس کے نگہبان ہیں
" He said, ""You are an unfamiliar people."" "
وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فِيْ شِيَعِ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ10 
اور بیشک ہم نے تم سے پہلے اگلی امتوں میں رسول بھیجے
" They said, ""In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted."" "
وَمَا يَاْتِيْهِمْ مِّنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ11 
اور ان کے پاس کوئی رسول نہیں آتا مگر اس سے ہنسی کرتے ہیں
" ""And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful."" "
كَذٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهٗ فِيْ قُلُوْبِ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ12 
ایسے ہی ہم اس ہنسی کو ان مجرموں کے دلوں میں راہ دیتے ہیں
" ""Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them - and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to."" "
لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِهٖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُـنَّةُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ13 
وہ اس پر ایمان نہیں لاتے اور اگلوں کی راہ پڑچکی ہے
And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off.
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاۗءِ فَظَلُّوْا فِيْهِ يَعْرُجُوْنَ14 
اور اگر ہم ان کے لیے آسمان میں کوئی دروازہ کھول دیں کہ دن کو اس میں چڑھتے
And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.)
لَقَالُوْٓا اِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ اَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُوْرُوْنَ   ۧ15 
جب بھی یہی کہتے کہ ہماری نگاہ باندھ دی گئی ہے بلکہ ہم پر جادو ہوا ہے
" He said, ""These are my guests - do not dishonour me."" "
وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاۗءِ بُرُوْجًا وَّزَيَّنّٰهَا لِلنّٰظِرِيْنَ16 
اور بیشک ہم نے آسمان میں برج بنائے اور اسے دیکھنے والو ں کے لیے آراستہ کیا
" ""And fear Allah and do not disgrace me."" "
وَحَفِظْنٰهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطٰنٍ رَّجِيْمٍ17 
اور اسے ہم نے ہر شیطان مردود سے محفوظ رکھا
" They said, ""Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?"" "
اِلَّا مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَاَتْبَعَهٗ شِهَابٌ مُّبِيْنٌ18 
مگر جو چوری چھپے سننے جائے تو اس کے پیچھے پڑتا ہے روشن شعلہ
" He said, ""These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to."" "
وَالْاَرْضَ مَدَدْنٰهَا وَاَلْقَيْنَا فِيْهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَاَنْۢبَتْنَا فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْزُوْنٍ19 
اور ہم نے زمین پھیلائی اور اس میں لنگر ڈالے اور اس میں ہر چیز اندازے سے اگائی
By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) - they are indeed straying in their intoxication.
وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيْهَا مَعَايِشَ وَمَنْ لَّسْتُمْ لَهٗ بِرٰزِقِيْنَ20 
اور تمہارے لیے اس میں روزیاں کردیں اور وہ کردیے جنہیں تم رزق نہیں دیتے
Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise.
وَاِنْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍ اِلَّا عِنْدَنَا خَزَاۗىِٕنُهٗ ۡ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهٗٓ اِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُوْمٍ21 
اور کوئی چیز نہیں جس کے ہمارے پاس خزانے نہ ہوں اور ہم اسے نہیں اتارتے مگر ایک معلوم انداز سے
And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay.
وَاَرْسَلْنَا الرِّيٰحَ لَوَاقِحَ فَاَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاۗءِ مَاۗءً فَاَسْقَيْنٰكُمُوْهُ ۚ وَمَآ اَنْتُمْ لَهٗ بِخٰزِنِيْنَ22 
اور ہم نے ہوائیں بھیجیں بادلوں کو با رور کرنے والیاں تو ہم نے آسمان سے پانی اتارا پھر وہ تمہیں پینے کو دیا اور تم کچھ اس کے خزانچی نہیں
Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive.
وَاِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُـحْيٖ وَنُمِيْتُ وَنَحْنُ الْوٰرِثُوْنَ23 
اور بیشک ہم ہی جِلائیں اور ہم ہی ماریں اور ہم ہی وارث ہیں
And indeed that township is upon a road still in use.
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِيْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَاْخِرِيْنَ24 
اور بیشک ہمیں معلوم ہیں جو تم میں آگے بڑھے اور بیشک ہمیں معلوم ہیں جو تم میں پیچھے رہے
Indeed in this are signs for the believers.
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۭ اِنَّهٗ حَكِيْمٌ عَلِيْمٌ   ۧ25 
اور بیشک تمہارا رب ہی تمہیں قیامت میں اٹھائے گا بیشک وہی علم و حکمت والا ہے
And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَاٍ مَّسْنُوْنٍ26 
اور بیشک ہم نے آدمی کو بجتی ہوئی مٹی سے بنایا جو اصل میں ایک سیاہ بودار گارا تھی
We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road.
وَالْجَاۗنَّ خَلَقْنٰهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ مِنْ نَّارِ السَّمُوْمِ27 
اور جِن کو اس سے پہلے بنایا بے دھوئیں کی آگ سے
And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers.
وَاِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةِ اِنِّىْ خَالِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَاٍ مَّسْنُوْنٍ28 
اور یاد کرو جب تمہارے رب نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا کہ میں آدمی کو بنانے والا ہوں بجتی مٹی سے جو بدبودار سیاہ گارے سے ہے
And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them.
فَاِذَا سَوَّيْتُهٗ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيْهِ مِنْ رُّوْحِيْ فَقَعُوْا لَهٗ سٰجِدِيْنَ29 
تو جب میں اسے ٹھیک کرلوں اور اور میں اپنی طرف کی خاص معز ز ر وح پھونک دوں تو اس کے لیے سجدے میں گر پڑنا
And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear.
فَسَجَدَ الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ اَجْمَعُوْنَ30 
تو جتنے فرشتے تھے سب کے سب سجدے میں گرے
So the scream overcame them at morning.
اِلَّآ اِبْلِيْسَ ۭ اَبٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ مَعَ السّٰجِدِيْنَ31 
سوا ابلیس کے، اس نے سجدہ والوں کا ساتھ نہ مانا
Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them.
قَالَ يٰٓـاِبْلِيْسُ مَا لَكَ اَلَّا تَكُوْنَ مَعَ السّٰجِدِيْنَ32 
فرمایا اے ابلیس تجھے کیا ہوا کہ سجدہ کرنے والوں سے الگ رہا
And We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, except with the Truth; and indeed the Last Day will come, therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), forbear graciously.
قَالَ لَمْ اَكُنْ لِّاَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهٗ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَاٍ مَّسْنُوْنٍ33 
بولا مجھے زیبا نہیں کہ بشر کو سجدہ کروں جسے تو نے بجتی مٹی سے بنایا جو سیاہ بودار گارے سے تھی
Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing.
قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَاِنَّكَ رَجِيْمٌ34 
فرمایا تو جنت سے نکل جا کہ تو مردود ہے
And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an.
وَّاِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ35 
اور بیشک قیامت تک تجھ پر لعنت ہے
Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy.
قَالَ رَبِّ فَاَنْظِرْنِيْٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُوْنَ36 
بولا اے میرے رب تو مجھے مہلت دے اس دن تک کہ وہ اٹھائے جائیں
" And proclaim, ""Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning."" "
قَالَ فَاِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِيْنَ37 
فرمایا تو ان میں سے ہے جن کو اس معلوم
(Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers.
اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُوْمِ38 
وقت کے دن تک مہلت ہے
Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. ( Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text - or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.)
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ اَغْوَيْتَنِيْ لَاُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَلَاُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ39 
بولا اے رب میرے!قسم اس کی کہ تو نے مجھے گمراہ کیا میں انہیں زمین میں بھلاوے دوں گا اور ضرور میں ان سب کو بے راہ کروں گا
Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them.
اِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِيْنَ40 
مگر جو ان میں تیرے چنے ہوئے بندے ہیں
About all what they used to do.
قَالَ ھٰذَا صِرَاطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَــقِيْمٌ41 
فرمایا یہ راستہ سیدھا میری طرف آتا ہے
Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists.
اِنَّ عِبَادِيْ لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطٰنٌ اِلَّا مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْغٰوِيْنَ42 
بیشک میرے بندوں پر تیرا کچھ قابو نہیں سوا ان گمراہوں کے جو تیرا ساتھ دیں
Indeed We suffice you against these mockers.
وَاِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ43 
اور بیشک جہنم ان سب کا وعدہ ہے
Those who ascribe another God along with Allah; so they will soon come to know.
لَهَا سَبْعَةُ اَبْوَابٍ ۭ لِكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُوْمٌ   ۧ44 
اس کے سات دروازے ہیں، ہر دروازے کے لیے ان میں سے ایک حصہ بٹا ہوا ہے
And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech.
اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ فِيْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍ45 
بیشک ڈر والے باغوں اور چشموں میں ہیں
Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate.
اُدْخُلُوْهَا بِسَلٰمٍ اٰمِنِيْنَ46 
ان میں داخل ہو سلامتی کے ساتھ امان میں
And keep worshipping your Lord, till death * comes to you. (* The certainty.)
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِيْ صُدُوْرِهِمْ مِّنْ غِلٍّ اِخْوَانًا عَلٰي سُرُرٍ مُّتَقٰبِلِيْنَ47 
اور ہم نے ان کے سینوں میں جو کچھ کینے تھے سب کھینچ لیے آپس میں بھائی ہیں تختوں پر روبرو بیٹھے
The command of Allah is arriving soon, therefore do not seek to hasten it; Purity and Supremacy are to Him, above all the partners (they ascribe).
لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيْهَا نَصَبٌ وَّمَا هُمْ مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِيْنَ48 
نہ انہیں اس میں کچھ تکلیف پہنچے نہ وہ اس میں سے نکالے جائیں
" He sends down the angels with the soul of faith - the divine revelations - towards those among His bondmen He wills that, ""There is no worship except for Me, therefore fear Me."" "
نَبِّئْ عِبَادِيْٓ اَنِّىْٓ اَنَا الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِيْمُ49 
خبردو میرے بندوں کو کہ بیشک میں ہی ہوں بخشے والا مہربان
He created the heavens and the earth with the truth; Supreme is He above their ascribing of partners (to Him).
وَاَنَّ عَذَابِيْ هُوَ الْعَذَابُ الْاَلِيْمُ50 
اور میرا ہی عذاب دردناک عذاب ہے
He created man from a drop of fluid, yet he is an open quarreller!
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَنْ ضَيْفِ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ51 
اور انہیں احوال سناؤ ابراہیم کے مہمانوں کا
And He created cattle; in them are warm clothing and uses for you, and you eat from them.
اِذْ دَخَلُوْا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوْا سَلٰمًا ۭ قَالَ اِنَّا مِنْكُمْ وَجِلُوْنَ52 
جب وہ اس کے پاس آئے تو بولے سلام کہا ہمیں تم سے ڈر معلوم ہوتا ہے
And in them is your elegance, when you bring them home at evening, and when you leave them to graze.
قَالُوْا لَا تَوْجَلْ اِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلٰمٍ عَلِيْمٍ53 
انہوں نے کہا ڈریے نہیں ہم آپ کو ایک علم والے لڑکے کی بشارت دیتے ہیں
And they transport your loads to a town where you could not reach except utterly exhausted; indeed your Lord is Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
قَالَ اَبَشَّرْتُمُوْنِيْ عَلٰٓي اَنْ مَّسَّنِيَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُوْنَ54 
کہا کیا اس پر مجھے بشارت دیتے ہو کہ مجھے بڑھاپا پہنچ گیا اب کاہے پر بشارت دیتے ہو
And horses, and mules, and donkeys so that you may ride them, and for adornment; and He will create what you do not know *. (* All modern means of transport - by air, sea, land and even in space - evidence this.)
قَالُوْا بَشَّرْنٰكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُنْ مِّنَ الْقٰنِطِيْنَ55 
کہا ہم نے آپ کو سچی بشارت دی ہے آپ ناامید نہ ہوں
And the middle path rightly leads to Allah - any other path is wayward; and had He willed He would have brought all of you upon guidance.
قَالَ وَمَنْ يَّقْنَطُ مِنْ رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهٖٓ اِلَّا الضَّاۗلُّوْنَ56 
کہا اپنے رب کی رحمت سے کون ناامید ہو مگر وہی جو گمراہ ہوئے
It is He Who sent down water from the sky - you drink from it, and from it are trees you use as pasture.
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ اَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُوْنَ57 
کہا پھر تمہارا کیا کام ہے اے فرشتو!
With this water He produces for you crops, and olives, and dates, and grapes, and all kinds of fruit; indeed in this is a sign for people who ponder.
قَالُوْٓا اِنَّآ اُرْسِلْنَآ اِلٰى قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِيْنَ58 
بولے ہم ایک مجرم قوم کی طرف بھیجے گئے ہیں
And He subjected the night and the day for you - and the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected to His command; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect.
اِلَّآ اٰلَ لُوْطٍ ۭ اِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوْهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ59 
مگر لوط کے گھر والے، ان سب کو ہم بچالیں گے
And the things He has created for you in the earth, of numerous colours; indeed in this is a sign for people who remember.
اِلَّا امْرَاَتَهٗ قَدَّرْنَآ ۙاِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغٰبِرِيْنَ   ۧ60 
مگر اس کی عورت ہم ٹھہراچکے ہیں کہ وہ پیچھے رہ جانے والوں میں ہے
And it is He Who subjected the sea for you, so you eat fresh meat from it, and extract ornaments from it which you wear; and you see ships ploughing through it and in order that you may seek His munificence and that you may give thanks.
فَلَمَّا جَاۗءَ اٰلَ لُوْطِۨ الْمُرْسَلُوْنَ61 
تو جب لوط کے گھر فرشتے آئے
And He placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake along with you, and streams and roads for you to find course.
قَالَ اِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنْكَرُوْنَ62 
کہا تم تو کچھ بیگانہ لوگ ہو
And landmarks; and they are guided by the star.
قَالُوْا بَلْ جِئْنٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوْا فِيْهِ يَمْتَرُوْنَ63 
کہا بلکہ ہم تو آپ کے پاس وہ لائے ہیں جس میں یہ لوگ شک کرتے تھے
So will He Who creates ever be like one who does not create? So do you not heed advice?
وَاَتَيْنٰكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَاِنَّا لَصٰدِقُوْنَ64 
اور ہم آپ کے پاس سچا حکم لائے ہیں اور ہم بیشک سچے ہیں
And if you enumerate the favours of Allah, you will never be able to count them; indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.
فَاَسْرِ بِاَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ الَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ اَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنْكُمْ اَحَدٌ وَّامْضُوْا حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُوْنَ65 
تو اپنے گھر والوں کو کچھ رات رہے لے کر باہر جایے اور آپ ان کے پیچھے چلئے اور تم میں کوئی پیچھے پھر کر نہ دیکھے اور جہاں کو حکم ہے سیدھے چلے جایئے
And Allah knows what you conceal and what you disclose.
وَقَضَيْنَآ اِلَيْهِ ذٰلِكَ الْاَمْرَ اَنَّ دَابِرَ هٰٓؤُلَاۗءِ مَقْطُوْعٌ مُّصْبِحِيْنَ66 
اور ہم نے اسے اس حکم کا فیصلہ سنادیا کہ صبح ہوتے ان کافروں کی جڑ کٹ جائے گی
And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created.
وَجَاۗءَ اَهْلُ الْمَدِيْنَةِ يَسْـتَبْشِرُوْنَ67 
اور شہر والے خوشیاں مناتے آئے
They are dead, not alive; and they do not know when will the people be raised.
قَالَ اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۗءِ ضَيْفِيْ فَلَا تَفْضَحُوْنِ68 
لوط نے کہا یہ میرے مہمان ہیں مجھے فضیحت(رُسوا)نہ کرو
Your God is One God; so those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts deny and they are proud.
وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَلَا تُخْــزُوْنِ69 
اور اللہ سے ڈرو اور مجھے رسوا نہ کرو
Certainly Allah knows what they hide and what they disclose; indeed He does not like the proud.
قَالُوْٓا اَوَلَمْ نَــنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ70 
بولے کیا ہم نے تمہیں منع نہ کیا تھا کہ اوروں کے معاملہ میں دخل نہ دو
" And when it is said to them, ""What has your Lord sent down?"", they say, ""The tales of former people."" "
قَالَ هٰٓؤُلَاۗءِ بَنٰتِيْٓ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ فٰعِلِيْنَ71 
کہا یہ قوم کی عورتیں میری بیٹیاں ہیں اگر تمہیں کرنا ہے
In order to bear their full burdens on the Day of Resurrection, and some burdens of those whom they mislead with their ignorance; pay heed! What an evil burden they bear!
لَعَمْرُكَ اِنَّهُمْ لَفِيْ سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُوْنَ72 
اے محبوب تمہاری جان کی قسم بیشک وہ اپنے نشہ میں بھٹک رہے ہیں
Indeed those before them had plotted, so Allah seized the foundations of their building, therefore the roof fell down upon them from a height, and the punishment came upon them from a place they did not know.
فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِيْنَ73 
تو دن نکلتے انہیں چنگھاڑ نے آلیا
" Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and proclaim, ""Where are My partners, concerning whom you disputed""; the people of knowledge will say, ""All disgrace and evil is upon the disbelievers this day."" "
فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَاَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّنْ سِجِّيْلٍ74 
تو ہم نے اس بستی کا اوپر کا حصہ اس نے نیچے کا حصہ کردیا اور ان پر کنکر کے پتھر برسائے
" Those whose souls the angels remove whilst they were wronging themselves; so now they will plead ""We never used to do any wrong""; ""Yes you did, why not? Indeed Allah well knows what you used to do."" "
اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِيْنَ75 
بیشک اس میں نشانیاں ہیں فراست والوں کے لیے
" ""So now enter the gates of hell, remaining in it for ever""; so what an evil destination for the arrogant! "
وَاِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيْلٍ مُّقِيْمٍ76 
اور بیشک وہ بستی اس راہ پر ہے جو اب تک چلتی ہے
" And it was said to the pious, ""What has your Lord sent down?"" They said, ""Goodness""; for those who did good in this world is goodness, and the final home is the best; and indeed what an excellent final home for the pious. "
اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ77 
بیشک اس میں نشانیاں ہیں ایمان والوں کو
Everlasting Gardens of Eden which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow - in it they will get whatever they wish; this is how Allah rewards the pious.
وَاِنْ كَانَ اَصْحٰبُ الْاَيْكَةِ لَظٰلِمِيْنَ78 
اور بیشک جھاڑی والے ضرور ظالم تھے
" Those whose souls the angels remove in a state of purity, saying, ""Peace be upon you - enter Paradise, the reward of your deeds."" "
فَانْتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ ۘ وَاِنَّهُمَا لَبِاِمَامٍ مُّبِيْنٍ   ۧ79 
تو ہم نے ان سے بدلہ لیا اور بیشک دونوں بستیاں کھلے راستہ پر پڑتی ہیں
So what are they waiting for, except that the angels come upon them or that your Lord’s punishment comes? Those before them did exactly this; and Allah did not oppress them at all, but it is they who used to wrong themselves.
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ اَصْحٰبُ الْحِـجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ80 
اور بیشک حجر والو ں نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا
So the evils of their deeds struck them, and what they used to mock at surrounded them.
وَاٰتَيْنٰهُمْ اٰيٰتِنَا فَكَانُوْا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِيْنَ81 
اور ہم نے ان کو اپنی نشانیاں دیں تو وہ ان سے منہ پھیرے رہے
" And the polytheists said, ""Had Allah willed, we would not have worshipped anything besides Him - neither we nor our forefathers - and nor would we have forbidden anything, whilst being disassociated with Him""; those before them did exactly this; so wh
وَكَانُوْا يَنْحِتُوْنَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوْتًا اٰمِنِيْنَ82 
اور وہ پہاڑوں میں گھر تراشتے تھے بے خوف
" And indeed We sent to every nation a Noble Messenger (proclaiming) that ""Worship Allah and beware of the devil""; therefore Allah guided some of them, and error proved true upon some of them; therefore travel in the land and see what sort of fate befel
فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِيْنَ83 
تو انہیں صبح ہوتے چنگھاڑ نے آلیا
If you (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) desire for their guidance, then indeed Allah does not guide one whom He misleads, and they do not have any aides.
فَمَآ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يَكْسِبُوْنَ84 
تو ان کی کمائی کچھ ان کے کام نہ آئی
" And they swore by Allah most vehemently in their oaths that, ""Allah will not raise up the dead""; yes He will, why not? A true promise obligatory upon Him, but most men do not know. "
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ ۭ وَاِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَاٰتِيَةٌ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيْلَ85 
اور ہم نے آسمان اور زمین اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے عبث نہ بنایا، اور بیشک قیامت آنے والی ہے تو تم اچھی طرح درگزر کرو
In order that He may make clear to them the matter in which they differed, and the disbelievers may realise that they were liars.
اِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلّٰقُ الْعَلِيْمُ86 
بیشک تمہارا رب ہی بہت پیدا کرنے والا جاننے والا ہے
" And Our command for anything to occur, when We will it, is that We only say to it, ""Be"" - and it thereupon happens. "
وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنٰكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِيْ وَالْقُرْاٰنَ الْعَظِيْمَ87 
اور بیشک ہم نے تم کو سات آیتیں دیں جو دہرائی جاتی ہیں اور عظمت والا قرآن
And to those who migrated in Allah's cause after being oppressed, We shall indeed give them a good place in the world, and indeed the reward of the Hereafter is extremely great; if only the people knew!
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ اِلٰى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهٖٓ اَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ88 
اپنی آنکھ اٹھاکر اس چیز کو نہ دیکھو جو ہم نے ان کے جوڑوں کو برتنے کو دی اور ان کا کچھ غم نہ کھاؤ اور مسلمانوں کو اپنی رحمت کے پروں میں لے لو
Those who patiently endured and who rely only upon Allah.
وَقُلْ اِنِّىْٓ اَنَا النَّذِيْرُ الْمُبِيْنُ89 
اور فرماؤ کہ میں ہی ہوں صاف ڈر سنانے والا (اس عذاب سے)
And We did not send before you except men, towards whom We sent divine revelations - so O people, ask the people of knowledge if you do not know. (* All the Prophets were men.)
كَمَآ اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَي الْمُقْتَسِمِيْنَ90 
جیسا ہم نے بانٹنے والوں پر اتارا
Along with clear proofs and writings; and We have sent down this Remembrance towards you (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) so that you may explain to mankind what has been revealed towards them, and that they may ponder.
الَّذِيْنَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْاٰنَ عِضِيْنَ91 
جنہوں نے کلامِ الٰہی کو تکے بوٹی کرلیا
So do they who conspire evils, not fear that Allah may bury them in the earth, or that the punishment may come to them from a place they do not know?
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْــَٔـلَنَّهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ92 
تو تمہارے رب کی قسم ہم ضرور ان سب سے پوچھیں گے
Or that He may seize them while they move here and there, for they cannot escape?
عَمَّا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ93 
جو کچھ وہ کرتے تھے
Or that He may seize them whilst constantly ruining them? For indeed your Lord is Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَاَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ94 
تو اعلانیہ کہہ دو جس بات کا تمہیں حکم ہے اور مشرکوں سے منہ پھیر لو
And have they not observed that the shadows of the things Allah has created incline to the right and to the left, in prostration to Allah, and that they are servile?
اِنَّا كَفَيْنٰكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِءِيْنَ95 
بیشک ان ہنسنے والوں پر ہم تمہیں کفا یت کرتے ہیں
And to Allah only prostrates whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever moves in the earth, and the angels - and they are not proud.
الَّذِيْنَ يَجْعَلُوْنَ مَعَ اللّٰهِ اِلٰـهًا اٰخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُوْنَ96 
جو الله کے ساتھ دوسرا معبود ٹھہراتے ہیں تو اب جان جائیں گے
They bear upon themselves the fear of their Lord, and do only what they are commanded. (Command of prostration # 3)
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ اَنَّكَ يَضِيْقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُوْلُوْنَ97 
اور بیشک ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ ان کی باتوں سے تم دل تنگ ہوتے ہو
" And Allah has proclaimed, ""Do not ascribe two Gods; indeed He is the only One God; therefore fear Me alone."" "
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُنْ مِّنَ السّٰجِدِيْنَ98 
تو اپنے رب کو سراہتے ہوئے اس کی پاکی بولو اور سجدہ والوں میں ہو
And to Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and in the earth, and obeying Him only is obligatory; so will you fear anyone other than Allah?
وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتّٰى يَاْتِيَكَ الْيَقِيْنُ   ۧ99 
اور مرتے دم تک اپنے رب کی عبادت میں رہو
And whatever blessings you have, are all from Allah - then whenever misfortune reaches you, towards Him only do you seek refuge.
